We visited this location for a family celebration with our 11 year old sensitive celiac. I had an email exchange with a higher up who put me in touch with two managers, one of whom assured me the staff was trained and it would “be taken care of, like always.” Our server confirmed twice that she was celiac aware and that no cross contamination had occurred in preparing my child’s pasta. Halfway through her bowl of penne (their only GF pasta) she found a spaghetti noodle. She was extremely upset and she and I had to leave the restaurant while our family finished. I returned momentarily and was greeted by the manager, who didn’t exactly apologize, but did blame his staff for the fact that he was busy and they didn’t go get him as HE is the one that changes the pasta water for allergies. I’m not sure why the staff aren’t trained to do so already. Her meal (and mine, presumably because it was also half eaten) were comped but I’m extremely disappointed by the treatment of the management. Waiting now to see how violently ill my child will be and how long before she is willing to trust a restaurant again.
