Olly Makes Bakery

Nice little GF bakery. Considering many people who are gluten-free are also vegetarian and vegan, It’s frustrating to not be able to get a meat free breakfast item. Their savory offerings are scones and most of the time they contain meat. Seems like more would be sold if there was a vegetarian option. Otherwise everything is good, but a bit pricey.

This past weekend I finally got a chance to try Olly Makes Bakery. I specifically planned my visit from Las Vegas to Bentonville, Arkansas to visit this gluten-free bakery when they're opened. They're closed Sunday-Tuesday.

They're located in a cute Victorian house that has been converted to a bakery, with a few rooms converted to a place to sit and consume your purchases.

While there weren't as many options as I had hoped as only 7 baked items were available, I did enjoy the gluten-free & pork-free chicken, chicken-bacon and chive scone for $6.25 and a double-chocolate cookie for $2.50.

The other options were: - $7 blueberry muffin - $6 orange poppy seed bread (about the size of a deck of cards.) - $5 sausage roll (about the size of a Twinkie.) - $4.99 vanilla funfetti vegan cupcake - $7 cherry seed bar (about the size of a deck of cards.)

I brought 3 other people with me and while my food tasted good, there just wasn't enough variety and the people I brought with me declined to order.

Also, to prevent confusion, this bakery needs to separate out the taxes on their receipts as separate line items. Currently, it looks as if they're charging a 10.5% sales tax when the tax rate is 9.5%. I have been informed that there is some additional tax to make up the additional 1%. It's unclear if this is true but having separate line items on the receipt would fix this issue. Nobody wants to be overcharged.

Small selection of yummy baked goods in a cute Victorian style house turned bakery. The owner was onsite working on her laptop near the front counter and happy to chat. We stopped in mid-morning and there were about 10 different pastries to choose from—mostly sweet muffins, loaves, or cookies, but a couple savory scones as well. Everything GF and she really seemed to care about sourcing and using quality ingredients.

Oh wow...you are in for a treat. You don't have to ask because everything here is gluten free. The bakery is a cute house tastefully decorated. I ordered almost everything on the menu. The savory scone was absolutely amazing. The staff toasted it for me. Well I started and finished it before cranking the car. I went back and ordered 2 more. Other items I purchased were double chocolate cookie, brown butter pumpkin cookie, banana nut muffin, chocolate chip muffin, and apple cinnamon muffin. Amazing experience for your palette.

This place was hopping on a Saturday morning! Our ten year old daughter with celiac was so thrilled to get to choose some things from a dedicated gf facility. She loved everything she tried in terms of sweets. The bacon and chive scones tasted like the Red Lobster Cheddar Biscuits. Yummy! The person behind the glass was knowledgeable about what had oats / tree nuts. They don’t really serve drinks for kids so that was a little tough. But I guess that’s on us for forgetting our water bottles. It was a good stop!

Lovely little bakery in an old converted house. EVERYTHING is gluten free. I had the orange poppy seed bread and the banana muffin. Both were amazing.

Can’t say enough about this yummy bakery. We all eat gluten free so we tried many things: muffins, brownie, Ooey gooey cake, chocolate cookie, and more. There wasn’t a bad bite in the bunch. My plain eating husband liked this place, my picky kid liked this place, my Celiac had no issues, and it was overall a great experience. Some of the best GF bakery bites we’ve ever had. I’d come every week if I lived here.

The food is delicious and the service is awesome. Everything is gluten-free. We had a lemon buttercup, a banana muffin and bacon scone. We also got a petit raspberry chocolate cake and a mesquite brownie to go. Everything was the most delicious things ever. They bake with love in a dedicated gluten free kitchen. My husband (not allergic to gluten) even loved the scone and muffin.

We chose the blueberry and chocolate chip muffins for breakfast. The flavor and texture was great. We got a mesquite brownie for later on. It was wonderful as well. Honestly, I would not have known my treats were gf if I hadn’t purchased them myself.

They have an entirely gluten free facility and menu, the aesthetic is very cozy and welcoming, and they even had live solo guitar music. Staff was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating to my wife who is a celiac. Food was delicious, and very well displayed and crafted. It’s obvious that they know exactly what they are doing when it comes to gluten free food. Often gluten free items can be bland, dry, chewy, or crumbly when they shouldn’t be. All the items we sampled were nothing short of perfection. This place is a celiac’s dream.

Wow! I can not express how wonderful this place is. Every single thing is gluten free I was so excited. Usually at restaurants let along bakeries only have one (maybe if you’re lucky 2) really good options BUT this place I didn’t have to worry about it being safe to eat I just had to decide which one I wanted the most. Spoiler alert I wanted all of them!!

She knows most of us by name who visit often. Not only is Molly sweet so is her baking. Great consistent taste and will have a conversation about ingredients and quality to accommodate every need. Take your non gluten free friends they will not notice the difference. Keto items available pretty often she shares her menu on social media so you know what to expect!

This place is fantastic! My wife has a gluten allergy, I don't. Let me start off by saying we're not even going to qualify by using the phrase "for a gluten-free bakery..." because I'd put this bakery up against ANY bakery for the quality of the baked goods, and it's got a whole lot going for it in addition to the delicious items.

I had read some great reviews, and it's right across from the (fabulous) 21c hotel so it was easy for us to stop by. We encountered Olly's mom (boy, she looks young, and I actually assumed she was Olly because she was wearing an Olly t-shirt and I hadn't been here before) coming out of the place after closing and we had a really pleasant conversation with her, and stopped by the next morning.

We had a wonderful time there. First of all, yes, it's all true about the chocolate zucchini bread, it's excellent. Moist, delicious, not too sweet but just the right amount of chocolate flavor. Excellent. May even be better the next day. Secondly, while I was sure I was going to get the blueberry muffin everyone raves about, the coffee cake caught my eye. It was also outstanding. Sometimes coffee cake can be too sweet, or too dry. This one hit the mark on several counts. First, it was the right combination of underlying coffee cake base and sweet topping. Second, oh that topping! I was tasting walnut, and a little chocolate, and a little espresso, what an awesome combination. And again, just the right amount of sweetness. Just wow. That would go well with some...you guessed it...coffee.

We also had a savory item, some kind of Parmesan corn muffin, I don't remember exactly what all the ingredients were, but it was excellent! We thought we were going to take it back to the hotel room but it was so good we just ate it there. It was moist (how does she do it? Ok I will break down and finally say "for gluten-free, because they are sometimes just heavy and like cardboard or flavorless") and just delicious.

Now, she doesn't have an entire fru-fru set of coffee drinks, but the coffee she does serve is excellent. And it's hot and it stays hot in the paper cups somehow.

And the house is charming and relaxing and it's fun to hang out, they have wi-fi, and the seating is comfortable.

So stop by, grab yourself some bakery treats and coffee, and hang out for a while, you'll have a great time. We did. In fact, we're going back for that blueberry muffin and to see what else she's got.

All I know is you need to come here, gluten-free or not. It was such a memorable, pleasant experience for us.
