We visited Onwa in Nara, for a late lunch - it was lovely. Quaint spot, with lovely fresh food! We enjoyed the soy-based Karaage bowls. Happy bellies / no complaints at all.

We went to Onwa, Nara, Japan for lunch. A dedicated gluten free, vegan restaurant. The meal was absolutely delicious, We had tacos and fillings which were very yummy. We also had cheese cake and matcha tea and my husband had the chocolate cake. Would never had said the restaurant was gluten free and vegan, it was so good. If you go to Nara it is a must visit restaurant.

Had a delicious lunch here, the entire menu is gluten free and vegan, and the staff are extremely friendly. Food is cooked while you wait- includes deep fried soybean, corn tacos, rice bowl, salad, pickles etc. They also serve tea and cake or you can buy cake slices to take away, but I didn’t try because the lunch plate was plenty filling!
