Ooka Sushi & hibachi steak House

Server and chef were very careful to take precautions for our allergies! We ordered a chicken and steak hibachi meal and shared it. They ensured the salad dressing (a ginger dressing) was gluten free, then cooked our meat/veggies separate and prior to anyone else’s to avoid cross contamination. Hubby is allergic to soy as well so they cooked everything in butter instead of their soy oil they typically use. Love love love how careful they were!!!

Not GF-friendly, at least not anymore. I had come here in July 2022 and was able to get 1 GF dish (sesame chicken) and they were very accommodating but I just visited (August 2023) and they told me now all their chicken is marinated with flour. I asked what I can have and all they would say is "steak." And now the salad has a gluten-based dressing. I ended up eating nothing while my bf ate his meal.

— Poor

Felt super safe eating here. I called to verify if they have Gf soy sauce and they said yes and to let the server know immediately and they will cook your food first if doing hibachi grill. So I did and the cook was awesome, they didn't bring the GF soy sauce out when he was cooking and he told one server to bring it and they didn't listen, and then asked the next server very sternly to get it saying he needs it immediately before he can continue to cook. He did my fried rice first and served me and then everyone else's. Cleaned the grill and did my veggies and meat first. And then once mine was served he proceeded. The server who helped bring out the salad and soup gave me designated ones and confirmed the changes they made and that they are gluten and dairy free. They use a sesame oil dressing for Gf salad. And for the clear soup they only do the broth. Everything was perfect and I'll definitely be returning!

The server reported the need for gluten free dinner for our family. He was careful to ensure that our 2 celiacs members received good care. This is a Japanese steakhouse, the chef came with gluten free soy sauce and made an amazing dinner, it was well enjoyed!!
