I was invited here for brunch this weekend with coworkers. I reviewed the menu ahead of time and was excited for gluten free pancakes. I asked the server if they are prepared in a separate pan or grill, and he replied that they’re cooked on the same grill as the gluten-containing pancakes. I opted for a very expensive side of fruit ($5 on the menu, $6 on the check, $8 with tip).

Asked for gluten free pancakes, got regular pancakes. Ate about half until I realized. 😭

This is one of my favorite restaurants! They serve breakfast and lunch. Their GF pancakes are excellent. The staff is knowledgeable about Celiac. I have never been "dosed" with Gluten in the hundreds of times I've eaten there.

Our waiter was great. I got the avocado scramble and he offered corn tortillas on the side instead of the rosemary bread. They have GF pancakes, the banana blackberry was delicious!! Felt great afterwards.

The staff was very knowledgeable about all ingredients and other allergens. I had the artichoke scramble with potatoes. They subbed corn tortillas for bread. Huge portion and super yummy!

Despite what the other reviewers say, Orphan DOES NOT have a gluten free menu and gluten free pancakes are NOT offered. There is NO gluten free bread. Things have changed since last year. The server we had was not interested in helping. The coffee was good.

Amazing food! amazing staff!! Really amazing gfree options, but I can’t seem to order anything besides the blackberry banana pancakes :) soooo good! They manage to avoid that particle dust texture and really have a genuine pancake taste and feel!! Their coffee and bacon is amazing as well! I’m normally a dark roast person, but recently they convinced me to try the light roast which was exceptional!

I highly recommend Orphan. I had gluten free banana blueberry pancakes, and they were hands down the best GF pancakes I’ve ever had! I also had the avocado scramble with rosemary potatoes and it was delicious. This is probably the best breakfast I have ever eaten.

the food and coffee was fantastic. i had corn tamalli breakfast, and it really was devine. will definetly go back durring my visit to sacramento.
