Chef has family that is gluten free which made the place start gluten free menu and fryer. DON'T BE DECEIVED - just because it isn't marked gluten free he assured me most EVERYTHING CAN be gluten free. Just ask. They are SO SO SO knowledgeable. They even have recognition from the city for their dedication to gluten free people

Fish and chips are FANTASTIC. So so good. Kinda out of the way and looks like a locals only know kinda of place. The staff is so friendly and didn't skip a beat with the gluten free.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Worth the trip.

Very limited gluten free menu. A few entrees and then a burger, chicken sandwich, and a fish sandwich. Had the chicken sandwich and it was so dry and tasteless. Fries were good.

This place has so much character! I am celiac. Ordered chicken fingers & fries. They have a separate fryer and have gluten free breading, bread, and pasta! Very good 10/10 recommend!!

Holy cow! AMAZING food. Ordered the fish and chips (fries) on the recommendation of the other reviews and the guy in the black hat (you know who you are!). I don't like fish or ever order it, but I went out on a limb- AMAZING! The gluten free breading is FANTASTIC, full of flavor, crunchy and I ate every last piece.

Others' ordered GF as well and I have no doubt that they do everything possible to keep us safe. Even carried food out seperately.

Small, hole in the wall, back in the day, no frills type place. Worth every penny!

Went here for my birthday because I knew they have great food but was so happy they could accommodate my Celiac adult daughter! They have a gluten free menu but can make many things on the regular menu GF too! They have a dedicated gluten free fryer so you can enjoy French fries without worry! THEY OPEN AT 4! Ok! Now that we know that - you need to go here. Yup you do. Don’t ask for the GF menu just ask the server what they can make it and I’ll tell you in advanced the owner (and chef) has taken a gluten free course on how to cook. It’s absolutely worth your time. It’s a longer wait for food , since he’s back there killing it ...And worth it my friend. Worth it. The fried cod and potato fries were amazing. And dairy free? They’ll help you figure that out too ! Wonderful service. Wonderful meal. Great experience. Will be back for my anniversary when I bring my husband to Frankenmuth. Great experience.

Okay, so the decor is a little…dated. Just eat here, and enjoy the delicious food! The staff is so sweet and so very well versed in all things GF. The fish and chips is more than I could eat in two meals, and the Cole slaw is perfect.

Must say when I walked in I was unsure but I have to say the food was very impressive. I ordered the gluten free fish and chips which was delicious. The gluten free fries were seasoned and a favorite. They are very informed in Gluten Free and have a separate menu. Please don’t judge this as just a little corner bar it is beyond that.

Dinner was awesome. First time in years able to get GF Fish and Chips. Delish. They have dedicated fryers for GF foods, nacho chips are GF. We would definitely come back. Next time would ask for Fries to be crisp as I like my fries crispy and these were undercooked for me. Otherwise attentive staff, knowledgeable and able to answer all questions. The owner has niece that is GF and he went to classes to know how to prep food correctly.

By far one of the best gluten free meals I have ever had. We went back the second night as well.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST GLUTEN FREE FOOD IVE EVER HAD!! I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone! Not only was the food absolutely incredible but most dishes can be made gluten free and the staff is extremely knowledgeable! They are also super friendly- I got the feeling I was eating at a family member’s house while there! Please please go here when in Frankenmuth! It’s a must! (Try the fish and chips too! This wonderful gem is carefully nestled in Birch Run! I’ve driven past it for years but never knew it would one day become only 1 of 2 places I can safely eat out at due to my extreme gluten intolerance and sensitivity to cross-contamination. This restaurant is right across from the Holiday Inn that we were staying at. I read the reviews on here and we thought we would check it out! My friend and I are both have a gluten sensitivity. I have not had deep fried pickles and fish and chips in over 3 years! I was beyond excited about the gluten free breading they use. And the prices were great! Definitely will come back when in ths area! Would highly recommend!

My spouse and I were super hesitant to try the food here. You should definitely not judge a book by its cover!!! I had the gluten free mushrooms and all you can eat fish and chips. I could not believe I could eat all of this and it was prepared celiac friendly. Please, give this place a shot. So many options available for those who have celiac.

This place was awesome! Any Celiac knows how special it is when you find a place you can enjoy deep fried food. The mushrooms were incredible! I’d forgot what deep fried mushrooms taste like! Also had the fish and it was great. I just wish I lived closer. Separate fryer and very knowledgeable staff.

As others have said, don't let the outside turn you away. Definitely not an upscale place, but very nice and clean. Lots of gluten free options, including a dedicated fryer. The cook and a couple of his relatives are celiac so he understands cc. Good portions, great food, good prices. I had no issues after enjoying the fish and chips!

GF menu included pasta, fish, chicken and burgers. They offer GF French fries. The fish and chips were just ok. Chips were very greasy. I was a bit disappointed as I expected something better based on other reviews.

Had the best GF fish and chips ever- I even had seconds! Server was very knowledgeable and the chef came out to check on us. Next time I’d like to try the chicken Alfredo!

Best gf battered fish and chips I have had in a long time! The gf menu is not extensive but there were enough options. You wouldn't know by the look of the outside of the restaurant that the food would be so tasty. My husband and son enjoyed their non gf meals as well!

Excellent batter dipped cod! We stopped in after using a gluten free app that directed us to this establishment. Although I saw a poor review, other reviewers had good things to say, so I thought I would give it a try. This place uses a dedicated fryer so take a seat, order an appetizer, and let them heat the fryer for you. The chef came out and shared that he makes everything by hand- no hidden wheat, no cross contamination, he understands gluten free with a family member who is celiac. He was even honored by the celiac association. Let me state that I was not paid to leave this review, nor am I a friend or family member of the restaurant owner. I am simply someone driving up I-75, was hungry, and really wanted deep fried cod with fries. Enjoy!

We stopped in after reading they have Gluten free options. It's a small place but cute when you walk in. The waitress was friendly. Unfortunately that's where the good news stops! We all ordered the fish & chips, we were served the coleslaw first which was ok. After 30-40 minutes we received our food and was told they had ran out of cornmeal so he ran to the store (wish they would have told me as I would have picked another item instead of waiting) but really nice gesture! The fish was so bland and felt undercooked I put lemon on it and it still didn't help. The fries were ok but kinda soggy! So when the waitress came back to clear our plates she seen mine was still full and asked if I liked it? I said no not really so she offered something else to which I said no Thank you. Well you guessed it got my bill and not even a tiny discount for my $11 uneaten fish, I was hoping she would have given a slight discount since it was gross!! Save your $40 bucks and go somewhere else! I was wondering why there was only 2 other tables full on a busy lunch hour...now I know! I would not recommend this place to anyone.
