Review of Osteria Cicchetti

I called ahead to discuss options for gluten free availability. I was told that most items could be customized and they had a penne option. As a family of celiacs, we were so excited as many of our options were limited to chain restaurants during this trip. When we got there, 95% of their tables were open. We were met by a rude host, who stared that we wouldn't have a table until 7:45pm. An hour and 40 min later. This was due to reservations. What restaurant books 95% of their tables for reservations. Then we were told we could sit in the bar area, but we'd need to flag down a bar tender to clean out table for us. Mind you, they were not busy at all and the host could have asked this of the bar tender. This person was dismissive to us. I spoke to the manager who was horrified that we were treated this way and said this is not what was supposed to happen. We were so upset, we left. We have been met with difficult food situations this entire trip (places closing early, places not willing to accommodate). We will not be returning back to this establishment, or Wilmington, again.
