Review of Outback Steakhouse

The server noticed I had the GF menu, I said my order had to be GF, and the server responded that the order would be GF. Despite that, when almost done with the salad I felt a "crunch" between my teeth and tasted garlic -- unmistakably part of a crouton. I stopped eating and asked for the manager. Before the manager appeared, the main dish was delivered, complete with seasoned butter (gluten-butter) on the vegetables.

The manager asked if I ordered a GF meal, apologized, and gave me a $20 gift card.

Unlike other Outbacks over the years, the manager did not tell me why my meal was prepared improperly, or act like making it improperly was anything other than an inconvenience. The idea that this was a health issue seemed like a new concept to the manager.

I'm not going back.
