My most favorite place to get steaks. They are always cooked to my liking and taste delicious! Way better than Texas road house!! Also the house salad is so great! Wish they had GF bread to bring out so you aren't left watching everyone else get to eat bread!
Great Gluten free menu, GF friendly staff. Dinner is always good, but start with dessert. Thunder Down Under!
not so great, have to give specific instructions to the chef for gf.
Large gluten free menu. Knowledgable staff. Spoke with manager on first visit and was encouraged by his knowledge and understanding. Had a great meal and no issues afterwards. Have repeated the visit and remains a great place to eat.
Outback is one of my safe go to options. Love the aged cheddar bacon burger and baked potato. Never had an issue in my countless times here. I do know a celiac who reacts to their lettuce for some reason so I don't eat it but otherwise great! Edited: after numerous times eating here without issue I did get contaminated our last visit. Probably means outback is out as a choice :(
The server ok he take all notes for my celiac and my IBS Syndrome but service was so so ... The cook did a amazing job everything was perfect ! It was my first meal at restaurants since March
exceptional gf menu. very accommodating. they understand celiac and gluten issues. many menu items to choose. It makes a celiac sufferer feel like just one of the crowd. while you are.limited to the gf menu, you have so much to choose, and it includes a dessert item!!
Outback was one of the first places to get gluten free dining correct. I used to enjoy eating at this chain because I knew I could trust my meal was going to be safe. I have never gotten sick at an Outback but within the last few years the quality of the food has gone down hill. The gluten free menu has shrunk in size and the price feels outrageous for a small steak and a pile of mashed potatoes.
They have a great GF menu with lots of choices. Our waitress was very familiar with celiac and gave us great info on how they mugs were cooked, etc. We all left happy with no subsequent tummy aches so Outback will for sure be on our list of places to eat out.
I was contaminated once out of several dinners here. Another time I was given the wrong meal which came loaded with fries. We were able to clear it up quickly and the manager made sure the entire meal was re-made properly and they wound up comping the meal. I’ve been very satisfied with my meals and the attentiveness to allergies we’ve received so far. (How did I get contaminated? I’d ordered shrimp with my steak one time, asking for no seasoning, just to be sure. It came out with seasoning and I stupidly ate it, not thinking.)
Outback is a fun restaurant if you aren’t a cilac. Every time we have gone there we usually bump into a gf mixup. Sometimes they get it right but sometimes they don’t.😾😼I will List it as cilac friendly but it is not the best option for gf food on Staten Island
while our waiter was very good, the food was not. I ordered from the GF menu and informed the server. I had to send back my steak twice because it was like leather, and ultimately ate only veggies and part of a potato. I began feeling ill before we left the restaurant. I considered it a bad experience.
I chose to eat here because I usually don't have a problem eating at Outback locations. This time my food was delicious and steak was cooked perfectly, but unfortunately I was contaminated which was not great timing since we went to the hockey game following dinner.
Food was delicious! However, when my salad came out and I asked to confirm it was gluten free, the person who brought it to me looked like she didn't know and didn't care. Upon inspection, it was obvious the croutons had just been taken off the salad, leaving crumbs behind. Our waitress gladly got me a new one, but it seems like they should take more precautions when it's made clear that an item NEEDS to be gluten free due to celiac disease.
Ate here twice, no reactions. The sirloin was the best steak I've ever had at an Outback. It was cooked perfectly, but a bit too spicy for me. Potatoes were a bit salty, but I am not a big salt user, so they might be fine for most people. Had Alice Springs chicken the other time. Slightly overdone.
Nothing says, "happy 40th birthday" like being the victim of cross contamination! 😭 We researched online prior to going out to eat at a restaurant in Shenandoah tonight. Outback Steakhouse's website claims that it "is serious about gluten-free" so we decided to give it a go. I was pleased to see so many items on their gluten free menu. My husband and I split a gluten free Caesar salad as an appetizer since there were no other GF appetizers on the menu. I ordered the Alice Springs Chicken and a fully loaded baked potato. I was very clear with the waiter that I needed him to let the kitchen know that I have celiac disease and definitely needed a gluten free meal. He assured me that he would and that Outback was serious about gluten free. Along with dinner, I ordered a house margarita that I only took a few sips of because the flavor wasn't as good as my favorite one elsewhere but I didn't complain. Instead, I ordered an Angry Orchard to go with my meal. I only drank half of it because it tasted like beer. I also only ate half of my meal because I started feeling nauseous and bloated before I could finish it. We promptly paid and left the restaurant. An hour later, I look like I'm 6-7 months pregnant and am absolutely miserable! I contacted the restaurant and spoke to a manager named Kelly. She apologized profusely stating that her roommate also had celiac disease, could sympathize, and offered to comp my meal. I told her that I appreciated the gesture, but wanted her to know that I felt obligated to let others in the GF Foodies Facebook group and on the Find Me Gluten Free app know about my negative experience tonight. As promised, here's my review of the Outback Steakhouse on the feeder of I45 in Shenandoah; buyer beware!
We ate there today and food and staff were both a 5! Incredible!!
I've never had a gluten issue here, but they always overcook my steak. Don't order lobster at this location either, it's usually rubbery. The Alice Springs Chicken is always good though! Just wish they had a dedicated fryer for French fries.
