I was so excited to find a Chinese restaurant that has a gluten free menu, but unfortunately the food was mediocre at best. Everything was coated in corn syrup and tasted the same. We ordered the boneless spare ribs and underneath the shredded lettuce garnish, there was a literal puddle of corn syrup! The General Gao’s chicken and shrimp, as well as the sesame broccoli also tasted like corn syrup but with chili flakes. I’m super disappointed and, while I don’t feel like I’ve been glutened, this was not a meal I enjoyed. The server was also slow and caught an attitude when I asked for rice (I thought it came with the food but that was my mistake).
