The cashier was very familiar with what was gluten free and not gluten free on the menu.

However when we got our order, it was completely wrong. I asked for the beef shawarma and the rice mixed with lentils. They piled my beef shawarma on top of the rice pilaf, which in line with the traditional recipe, has noodles mixed in with it (and the cashier affirmatively said it was not gluten free).

They also piled all the kabobs on top of other gluten containing foods and didn't separate anything out. The grape leaves and the rice are not gluten free due to some ingredient in the rice (if not the noodles mixed in, it may be stock, the cashier very clear that the rice pilaf is not gluten free). The falafel is cooked in a shared fryer. I didn't ask about the hummus or the garlic sauce but I also didn't eat it. The plain meat should fine but you need to be very clear that you only want the meat. The plain rice and lentils are supposed to be the gluten free side dish, so be sure to ask for that if you're comfortable eating lentils.

Overall the food was really not very good. Of the small part of the order that they got correct, the meat was very dry. I couldn't have the rice pilaf but it looked over cooked and watery.

I would definitely not call this place a Celiac friendly establishment. I also think people who are not Celiac but want or need to eat gluten-free need to be incredibly careful at this place. For what the food ultimately cost to feed my whole family,I was very unimpressed. It is basically poorly cooked food. You're probably better off throwing some kabobs on the grill at home.

One of our go to places to eat in the area. Items are not specifically marked on the menu, but if you ask for the Mujadara GF instead of rice in any dish you are pretty safe! Only obvious things to avoid would be any pita bread, baklava, rice (semolina noodles in it), and anything that would have wheat germ. Staff has always been knowledgeable and careful!
