I iformed my server of my gluten allergy before ordering. I ordered a waffle marked "certified gluten free" on the menu. I felt sick within 10 minutes of starting to eat and left 3/4 of the waffle on the plate. I told the manager when I paid for my meal, she seemed very concerned and said she would look into it. Even so, I would be careful about dining here if you have celiac disease or a strong gluten reaction.
Horrible experience. We took our 3 year old son who has Celiac. We talked with the server to let him know. No problem he says. We ordered him bacon and eggs and asked to double check that it would still be cooked on separate equipment, ya don't worry about it. Our food comes out on a tray and the plates are extreme close to one another some of them have gluten food on them. Well our son has been complaining about his stomach and has a rash. We will never go back again. Really sloppy approach and attitude around having a Celiac friendly restaurant.
Years ago was told their corn beef hash was GF. It clearly was not given the days of illness that ensued. I've since gone back to find that their knowledge and offering have greatly improved. I would certainly recommend this to other CD folks.
The waitress we had appeared very knowledgeable about gf allergies! She did a lot of little things that helped reduce the anxitiy of eating at a new restaurant with an allergy. She repeated back the gf part both at ordering time and when the food arrived. They have a good gf menu also! We had the chocolate chip pancakes and they were great!! The staff even knew not to put whip cream on! Couldn't ask for a better experience.
