Thoroughly enjoyed this dining experience. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. They were training a new server but they made sure she had someone on hand to get the order right. They also have gf pancake mix to take away as well as other swag. I highly recommend a visit! Will likely go back before this trip ends.
Me and my mom both are celiac and therefore we had to try it. The personnel was very nice and knew what we were talking about right away. You can request a separate gluten-free menu, and your pancake arrives with a little Dutch flag (as shown in the picture). Overall very delicious and both my mom and I didn’t show any symptoms.
For Dog people: very friendly towards our dog - they looked for a table where he can sleep without being in the way and brought him a bowl with water to drink!
We ate here three times during our week in Amsterdam. Delicious pancakes, tons of options, separate allergen menu, and we never got sick. Easy for the lactose intolerant/vegan people in our party as well. This location is much less crowded than their other near the red light district too, we never had a wait here even at peak brunch times.
Visited here after reading the reviews. Sadly my daughter was badly glutened. We ate there on Monday while on a day trip to Amsterdam as part of our holiday. She started feeling unwell about half an hour after eating. Subsequently vomited very badly. She had eaten nothing else apart from breakfast at our holiday house so it was definitely caused by the pancakes she ate here. I emailed them immediately but have heard nothing back from them which is very disappointing. So be careful as there is obviously an issue with contamination.
Opposite Anne Frank’s House, this pancake house advertised as ‘Gluten-free’ on the outside. There is a dedicated gluten free pancake menu with sweet and savoury toppings all very similar to the regular menu. It was all delicious and my coeliac daughter loved her pancake and was well afterwards. There are four restaurants in the same chain across Amsterdam.
On a whim, ordered a pancake to takeaway with ham and cheese because the sign said they served gluten free pancakes. They took my order for a gluten free pancake, and a few minutes later the food was handed to me in a flat pizza box labeled gluten free and lactose free.
Had my pancake (fatty, but tasting good) outside, waiting for our scheduled canal-boat trip.
This was Wednesday March 8th at 3 PM.
At 4:30 PM I was feeling sick (I'm celiac) and started vomiting for about an hour. Fortunately the canal-boat trip was over and I was back at the hotel at the time. I had no other food than a few pieces of cheese and red wine after the pancake. The pattern of feeling sick about an hour and a half after ingesting gluten is typical on my behalf. Clearly this place managed to mix up my order with someone else's and did not have the required control.
Needless to say, this ruined the rest of my day.
Had a great experience here. I can see why some people say that the service is slow. They are packed so it was a little bit slow but not awful. Practically all of the Dutch pancakes can be made GF. I got a savory pancake and I really enjoyed it. We came on a Monday and they were open although it says they’re closed then on this app. I would call before if you want to try!
Nice place with a fural GF menu. Staff a bit slow. Otherwise very nice place.
Located conveniently by the Anne frank house and the canal tours. We ordered three different gluten free pancakes. There was a separate menu. Made with some kind of buckwheat flour blend. Really good!
I asked if they take precautions to avoid cross-contamination and she said of course. When she brought the food out, the gf dish had a token on it denoting it as gf.
Only the Dutch pancakes are gluten free. There are lots of sweet and savoury options. It is different from American pancake. It tasted like lefse.
There is outdoor seating by the canal and a play thing for kids-a big inflated jumper house
Only the Dutch pancakes can be done GF, but they are delicious. We are at two different locations and had great experiences at both. Good processes in place to avoid cross contamination and they bring the GF pancakes out with a special chip on it so you know it's gluten free. We tried a few different ones and the bacon and cheese was our favorite!
