Was pleasantly surprise how good the Chicken Lo Mein and Chicken and broccoli were! My friends tasted them and said they tasted near similar to their gluten versions. Only thing is the GF egg roll was so awful, would order other things again but not that!
It was expensive but you get HUGE portions. I did not get sick at all from it.
I was interested in trying based on the great reviews. I had ordered take out and confirmed with someone at the store about the gluten free dishes. I used the Nima Tester on the GF chicken and broccoli and unfortunately detected gluten. I was hoping for a local, safe gf Chinese food restaurant instead of going up north.
I have been coming here for 2-3 years, once weekly/every two weeks, (thanks to recommendations on this app), and me and my non-celiac but definitely sensitive 3 kids have never had an issue. Was speaking with the owner/chef yesterday who asked about our gluten issues. She also shared that her husband tends to have rashes, and that her two kids both have immediate and delayed reactions to gluten (and perhaps other foods). She asked if we’ve ever had a problem with her restaurant and was happy to hear that we haven’t. Makes me feel secure that she is able to take the gluten thing seriously, and cook with our health in mind.. Note — although they now have a large selection of gluten-free items on their online and in person menu, many items that can be made gluten-free are not listed. Feel free to ask—she is receptive. Also, at times when I call to place an order I am warned that it will be 30 or 35 minutes wait in order to prepare the cooking area. Of course, we’re happy to wait. One last thing—the Thai style dishes are the only ones we get!! Mildly spicy but so flavorful!!
So happy with this find! My usually Chinese restaurant closed down and was lost without it. This place is a little far from my house, but worth it. I love that they have a gf menu, so I don't have to play a guessing game. Everything I had (except the egg roll) was great! The gf menu isn't on their website, so I will post it below.
I was going to go to a different place but they were closed on Tuesdays. I found this restaurant to be much more expensive than my original option but the portions were good.
We really enjoyed the sesame chicken. The pad Thai was pretty good, a little bland. We got garlic broccoli and it smelled very vinegary and had a weird taste. The edamame was standard and good.
I felt like they took gf seriously. Everything was marked and they mentioned it when I picked it up.
Sesame chicken was great. Pork fried rice and chicken and broccoli was bland and they might not use gluten free soy sauce in these two dishes as the color of the dishes were light. I wanted to order egg drop soup but it wasn’t ready when I called and placed my lunch order.
Very good GF Chinese food. Wanted to cry when I took the first bite of sesame chicken…. It’s that good.
The only Chinese place you’ll ever go to again. This is hands down the best gluten free Chinese options in Monmouth County. Their entire menu denotes what can be made gf and I’d say it’s at least 80% of the menu modifiable. I’ve seen people who come here from out of state it’s that good. I’m one of their biggest customers and will rave about them from the rooftops. My favorite dishes are the gf lomein and chicken and broccoli. Their general tso is also amazing.
This restaurant was only to-go order for us on Friday night, which was a surprised once we arrived. However, the menu is extensively marked with Gluten Free options and the staff is knowledgeable about keeping gluten free items uncontaminated. It is really nice to find Asian food labeled as gluten free!!!
Wow!! This was a great find. I got sesame chicken with white rice and egg drop soup and it was all soo good and tastes normal! I got an egg roll also and it was greasy and I didn’t like as much, wouldn’t get again. Most of their menu can be made gluten free and it was all listed right there on the menu with prices and could easily order online!! Wow!
Easy to order online and they do contactless pickup right now for covid 19
Had a great experience! Workers seemed very educated, however. they do not have dedicated cookware but take precautions and cleaning between gf and gluten meals. Do have a dedicated fryer! Waitress knew to give me separate sauces for shared items to avoid CC. And advised me multiple times of things brought to the table that were and were not GF (I was with a big party). Did not get sick and food was closest to the Chinese food I miss. Would go back.
I used to love Panda House. It used to be celiac friendly. I recently ordered from here and was sick within 20 minutes of eating it. It's a shame bc there was a GF upcharge on each item and I got sick anyway.
I read the reviews, I asked multiple questions on the phone and ordered a pretty large order with two dishes gluten free. When the food was delivered they labeled a bag gluten free and I presumed that was the gluten free food, after my family and I ate we had noticed a difference in the regular general tso’s and the GF one, turns out I ate the regular because it was improperly bagged! I have been sick for two full days and will not be ordering from this place again! How about next time labeling the tops of the food and caring about your customers who are allergic if you are going to cater to “gluten free” 😓
After over a year of being completely gluten-free and safe from gluten, my 4-year-old daughter and I, pregnant at 20 weeks, got glutenized by this restaurant despite the reassurances I received by the employees at the restaurant. I believe there may have been an issue with some cross-contamination. In hindsight, I should have used my NIMA tester to double check but the numerous 5-Star reviews on this app convinced me otherwise (obviously no one’s fault other than my own). She and I are incredibly sick and I have an upcoming appointment with my doctor to make sure the baby is okay.
The staff was knowledgeable and the food was delicious. Nearly everything on the menu could be made gluten free. Within my family we ordered general tso’s chicken, sesame chicken, and broccoli with chicken. We also had pork fried rice and egg rolls. My family has celiac and no one had reactions.
The largest number of gluten-free offerings imaginable. Just about every entree is available gluten-free, as well as some appetizers. Combo platters with fried rice and egg roll to boot! My celiac daughter was in heaven! The owners are very knowledgeable about preparation and cross-contamination. Enjoy!
Very good Chinese food restaurant with knowledgable staff and plenty of choices. General Tso's chicken was delicious!
General Tso was awesome! Egg roll was good too! Ribs were ok, chicken and broccoli was ok, fried rice was ok... And service was great. Id definitely go back!
