We went to Pannikin for coffee, and my husband was going to get breakfast. I had eaten a quick bite at our Airbnb because I didn’t think they any GF options. We were happily surprised to see gluten free muffins on their menu. They were stored in a separate platter, and the staff informed me they use a separate pair of tongs for their GF pastries too. Based on those two things, I felt safe to order one. I got the chocolate chip muffin and it was delicious!! I know everyone feels differently about pastries in a non-dedicated GF cafe, but I felt safe based on Pannikis process.
Lots of gluten-free muffin choices! We had raspberry, and pineapple coconut. Delicious!
I ordered a gluten-free lemon poppyseed muffin, and it was DELICIOUS! I also got an out of this world hot mango green tea. If you love coffee or tea, this is the place for you. The muffins *were* in the same case as the gluten, but they were on the top shelf and not touching. I am very sensitive and did not get sick from my muffin.
Menu states they have gluten free bread, muffins, bars, and granola. In reality they only had one gluten free muffin. Unfortunately as someone who can’t eat dairy that was eliminated for me. Therefore I could not order anything. They should update their menu. Very disappointing
My mom and I went here a few days ago and she got a cinnamon roll and a coffee. She loved the place! I loved how cute the inside was but what I didn’t like was the gluten free muffins are on the counter next to gluten foods. It looks like very easy cross contamination.
When we asked if it was safe for Celiac’s the girl paused and said “umm yeah”. But she seemed unsure. So I decided against getting a muffin as it was kinda iffy. There was a sign as well that said it may have come in contact with wheat. So I’m not sure at this time but wanted to make sure others were aware.
the raspberry muffin was excellent, huevos rancheros, very good too
I had a delicious blueberry gluten free muffin , chai tea, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese turkey avocado and 3 orange slices that comes on the side.. my fiance had the huevos rancheros, it is also gluten free! open air, high ceilings, barnlike building. comfortable, good background music, must be a popular place for the locals to meet for coffee, and scrumptious baked goods. Come for breakfast or lunch. We are just driving through on vacation from Mesa Arizona, looking for a place for breakfast. Boy did we ever find one!
