This was my first visit to Paolo’s for a few years and the first after finding I have a wheat intolerance. The pizza was excellent. Freshly cooked, very tasty. The pizza base was crisp and light. The service was all you could wish for, attentive, friendly but not obtrusive. It was also very good value for money.
The server explained that they could not guarantee the absence of wheat, as fine particles end up in the air in the kitchen. However they do take what precautions they can to avoid cross contamination. I am not celiac but any small crumb of wheat causes pain in my joints for days after so I avoid it at all costs. I had no ill effects in the days following.
We’ll certainly be going back soon, in fact we’ve already booked for later this month.
