Does NOT have a specific GF menu!! The woman who took our order suggested some items that were "gluten free" so I started asking questions and it turns out much of it is cooked in the same cast iron skillet which could result in cross contamination. She specifically asked if it was a preference or an allergy and I said neither - I have celiac disease which is an autoimmune disease. Why should it matter if it's a preference or full blown celiac? They advertise a GF menu and I had to ask very specific questions to avoid cross contamination. She even suggested getting a wrap and asked me if that was GF! Um, I don't work there and typically wraps are nowhere near GF!! To top it off, my meal was so incredibly spicy that I could only eat half of it. It had no flavor, just ridiculous heat. It's only been about 15 minutes since we left and I haven't had any reaction yet, but I'll be nervously waiting to see if I get sick from it...would not recommend to someone who is sensitive to cross contamination!!

Literally the best place in all of Indianapolis to eat if you need to be gluten free. The one time an employee couldn't answer my question she ran back and got someone who had been working longer and sat and listened as she did. The food is excellent. The menu is clear and when I mentioned that I have Celiac they were accommodating changed gloves and everything. I love Cajun and having a place to go I can be certain is safe is great, having it be so delicious is perfect! Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Indy!

We used to go in to Papa's quite a bit, but due to his location and our work schedule it hasn't been possible for a while. Well we finally got over there and so glad we did. New Menu was excellent to be able to tell what was okay or could be done gluten free. If it doesn't have Bread, Wrap or Roux it's probably good to go! We had the chicken po boy over rice, red beans and rice, coleslaw and applesauce. Yumm!!!! Thanks Papa and Mama for training your staff. They actually asked when we ordered Gluten Free: "Is this a preference or allergy". We said allergy and they said we ask because the allergy requires special handling, changing gloves, getting items from another area, etc. Wow thank YOU!!!!!

I absolutely love this place. It's a hole in the wall but they respect the need for gluten free more than a lot of larger chains. My husband and I come here almost every Saturday because their chicken poboy over white rice is amazing. I really appreciate their gluten free options and how simple they make it to find out if a product is gluten free. Does it have the word bread in it? If not, it's gluten free. So simple!
