Wow I lovedddd this spot so much. The gluten free options were abundant! I went with the gf pasta buttera (sweet & spicy sausage, peas, vodka sauce) and it was sooo delicious. I also tried my sisters gluten free pasta baresi which was wonderful as well!! (italian sausage, broccoli rabe pesto, rapini, sun dried tomato, roasted garlic). We also ordered gf garlic bread which was great and shared a burrata app with the rest of the table. The place is very cute and feels authentic nyc. Our server was also very helpful and reassuring with my questions.
This restaurant was absolutely amazing! I went with my family and 3/5 people are celiac and the gluten free menu was almost bigger than the regular menu! Service was phenomenal, and so many options for gf Italian food. We got the gf garlic bread, meatball and fried burrata for appetizers and they were so delicious and you couldn’t even tell it was gf. The entrees were great too. If you are in New York and eat gf (or not!) I would highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back!
This place was phenomenal! Went here on a quick 3 day trip to NYC and it was the perfect experience. It’s a smaller place so I would recommend making a reservation ahead of time. I told my server that i was celiac and she said that they have a completely separate kitchen, oven, etc. for all their gf food. The gf menu was huge and I literally couldn’t make up my mind with what to get, so we got A LOT. Gf garlics bread with marinara (i’ve had better gf bread but still yummy), buffalo ricotta dip with bread, gf prosciutto pizza (their base is corn and the texture was perfect), their carbonara, and their vodka pasta. Their gf pasta is made in house and is one of the best i’ve had. 100/10 recommend!
Gluten free menu with a ton of options including apps and dessert
GF menu has most of the things the wheatavores get on theirs. Great branzino fish grilled and served with a raisin sauce on the side and perfectly cooked broccoli, lots of dessert options, very pleasant service. Cozy environment with pleasant recorded music (Norah Jones etc).
i would highly recommend checking this place out! i was so impressed with the variety of gluten free options that they have: pizza, pasta, entrees and appetizers.
i got the prosciutto pizza which is as big as any other gf pizza and also got, hold your breaths, garlic bread for an appetizer! the bread was along the lines of schar i feel so it was fluffy and tasted good. while things are expensive, i think most of the gf upcharges were only $1 which feels like a steal
the staff are also very attentive. i am the only gf person in my family so when my family was ordering, our waitress double checked if they wanted the regular or gf version. it’s the little things that make me feel better about eating somewhere
I’ve had a few delicious meals here and have had no reaction. The staff is knowledgeable. The atmosphere is nice and the food good. The pasta is well cooked and not mushy…you celiacs know what I’m talking about. The pizza is tasty. It’s great UWS restaurant that is safe for celiacs like me.
I’ve ordered takeout from here a few times, and while it’s nice that they have so many gluten-free options, the food is just terrible. I’ve tried both the GF pizza and pasta and both are barely edible. For GF cookies, they give you a bag of store-bought chocolate chip cookies. It’s really a shame given how committed they seem to the GF community that they can’t make better food.
The pizza was like something you could bake at home / find in the frozen food section. It was tasty, but not restaurant quality or worth the price.
We also got the barisi pasta - which again, didn’t taste bad at all, but was pretty plain & something we could’ve made at home.
The waitress said there was a seperate area where everything GF was prepared, the pizza had its own pan, and the pasta was boiled in its own water/pot; also a seperate GF menu
Delicious and cute restaurant. The specific gf menu is quite large. I had a chicken parm sandwich for lunch and really enjoyed it! I really appreciated that, when the waitress brought the dessert menu to my partner, she also brought the gluten free menu open to the dessert options for me — small things like this make me feel like they take gluten free seriously.
Amazing! I had a breaded chicken parm and also a fried (and breaded) burratta, it was fantastic! They had a gluten free menu with tons of options and some gluten free bread. I think they used all Schar products. Can’t speak to the safety precautions (did not specifically ask) but did specify I had a gluten allergy/celiac and did not get sick, so a win!
Amazing experience. Not only was my pizza delicious, but the owner called me BEFORE I came to tell me how they’d cook my food in a separate GF pan and would do their best to make it safe for me. They remembered my open table request when I got there and brought me a gf menu. The owner personally came over to me and let me know everyone was aware of my gluten allergy
There is a separate gluten-free menu but when I tried to reiterate to the waitress that I needed to avoid cross contamination, she didn't seem to understand (or to know what celiac disease was). I had the burrata, bolognese, and flourless cake here and felt very ill by the time we were leaving the restaurant. I'm not sure if it was the cake or all of the dishes, but unfortunately I can't recommend this restaurant for sensitive celiacs. My less sensitive celiac sister ate the same dishes and didn't feel as ill but I don't have confidence in cross contamination in the kitchen.
DISREGARD MY PREVIOUS POST!
I ordered take out from this restaurant a few times and all of the times I got extremely sick. I would not eat here!!
I love this place. I love their bolognese. I definitely recommend eating here. I feel great after each time I eat here. They also have a huge gf menu!
Got the gluten free pasta primavera to go. They clearly marked it and put it in a separate bag but when I used my Nima, it contained traces of gluten. It didn’t look good either (and my non-celiac family members said it was eh) but if it was safe I would have been happy lol.
Brought me the wrong pizza, never the same wait staff between riding to food delivery for example to ensure someone was looking out for my pizza to be gf. They brought me the wrong pizza, but was supposed to be gf still, so I ate it and it was okay. I guess I’ll find out if it was gf or not by if I get sick later tonight. The rest of the party’s food was fine. The service was pretty lackluster in general. They also marked my OpenTable account as a no show, even though I arrived before my appointment time.
Had a great meal here!! The manager understood our dinner had to be safe for celiac. He gave us a senior employee to take care of us along with checking in several times. He also told us they have been catering to gluten free for 15 years and 25 percent of their business is gluten free. It was an extensive separate gluten free menu. We had delicious garlic bread, bruschetta and breaded chicken Parmesan with penne, all safely made gluten free (no reaction) also great desserts and gluten free beer on the menu. Awesome ambience and a great overall experience.
Best restaurant I’ve been to since being gluten free. Many gf friendly appetizers including amazing garlic bread. Pasta is amazing, my non-gluten free family couldn’t taste the difference. Flourless chocolate cake is literally to die for. I will be dreaming about that cake for years to come.
Absolutely delish i would highly recommend. I’m also sensitive to dairy and they were so amazing about it. The garlic bread is to die for and the sauce it comes with. The restaurant is on the smaller side but it is so pretty on the inside and the staff is great. Definitely will visit again if im back in the area!
The reviews were correct! I had the GF lager, GF pizza and the GF bread. It's nice to have your own menu to order from. The waitress was knowledgeable and sweet. Her friend has Celiac so she was very aware and caring. I had so much food I had to take it back because the portions are large. I wish we had this place near me.
Been here a couple times, full standalone GF menu with good pasta and friendly service
