The first time I saw this item on the menu I thought it sounded horrible. But it’s become my addiction! The charcoal waffle is out of this world. My wife is not only gluten-free but dairy free as well and she can safely eat this waffle. They also have a dedicated waffle maker (Del Mar location) just for the gluten-free waffles! We’ve tried other things on the menu and they have been great too, but we keep coming back to the waffle over and over again. They use quality ingredients, including no seed oils! We love this place!

We were very careful to call ahead and notify we had celiac/ask about cross contact risk when we arrived. Asked them to change gloves, use new knives etc. Girl seemed very casual about it and kept saying they had plenty of safe options - should’ve been a flag to leave but we opted to try. Ended up getting terribly sick!! Not safe for celiac or cross contact!!!!
