We had a really great experience. My son has several food allergies, including wheat. We handed the server the allergy card and he discussed with the chef. We ordered filet mignon (off menu), grilled chicken (off menu), Brussels sprouts and asparagus. The sides were phenomenal and the grilled chicken was so tender. It’s one of the best filet mignon cuts we’ve had. They were very careful.
I returned here today, 10 years after my first review of this restaurant. It is just as good. 85% of the menu is GF and the server was very familiar with the ingredients and the gluten protocols. Food and atmosphere were great. I won’t wait so long before coming back!
REVIEW FROM 2014: Good knowledge of gluten free and many GF options that did not require modification. Dedicated fryer for French fries. Nice array of tasty dishes from burgers to seafood to steak. Food flavorful, service attentive, atmosphere appealing.
Literally, a go to date night spot for my husband and I for about 4 years now, they modify things gluten free very easily. Alot of their stuff is gluten free with many options, (all the steaks are not marinated in soy sauce as another review said below), maybe it was a special that day. I get them all the time and lots of seafood option, their scalloped potatoes are amazing and the servers are very accommodating and will ask chef to modify things. I am celiac and so far have never gotten sick here. If you like a good dirty martini this is worth a try!(the parkshore)
The restaurant was so nice! We sat outside and our server was very pleasant and personable. He seemed to understand the severity of my celiacs disease and made notes to take extra care for my meal. I ordered whatever the meal was that had the shrimp, scallops and fish that was grilled along with the broccolini which I was told is sautéed in a pan. I asked for it al to be made in a separate pan with fresh utensils and gloves. When it arrived, it looked like it was grilled but I was told it was sautéed. Unfortunately, I got extremely sick after dinner, I couldn’t even stand up straight. It was delicious but I was so sad.
They do not have a separate fryer. They claim it is hot enough to burn off the gluten from other items put in the oil. We did not want to take that risk.
Manager came over and spoke with the executive chef and they were able to put oil in a pot and cook fresh GF fries for our kids. (It took them to see a sad kid. But they did it)
