Staff Not aware of what gluten is at all. I had to define what gluten was and after being told nothing was gluten free. Don’t come here.

I found this restaurant in Old Juan to be very good and relatively inexpensive considering. Carlos with JStar Tours ate here with me as I was on a personal tour & we both felt that this restaurant knew it’s business when it came to gluten free choices. The owner’s daughter waited on us & she was also very good. The food for being home cooked came in good time too. I had seen what another reviewer had posted & was a little Leary but did not feel that to be the case at all. I also saw what another reviewer had posted & it was very informative & helpful. The same night the group I was with ate at a different restaurant and I was wishing that we could have eaten here because it was better. They have a variety of dishes. The food and decor has a Spanish (Old Spain) taste to it. We both ordered the same thing Camarones Chorizos y Arroz & shared Flan De Coco

Weird place. The waiter had no clue what was going on. Forgot to bring us menus, said he wasn’t sure what was GF. We ended up leaving.

This was my favorite restaurant on our short trip to Puerto Rico. I had serviceable paella (but not as good as Barcelona) but the tapas and the flan were fantastic! Staffs knowledge of gluten was lacking, but they were very willing to ask the chef and check ingredients.

In all fairness, another party sat near us and we overheard that a member has celiac. They left without ordering because they did not feel confident in their server.

This was a great experience! Right in the heart of the city, a great location. As soon as my sister and I mentioned we had Celiac disease they knew exactly what gluten was and made out orders specially so they were safe to eat. We both had the garlic shrimp and spicy potatoes!

Lovely patio and good food. Manager and server knowledgeable about Celiacs and cross-contamination. No GF menu, but many gf options. Mussels with coconut milk and paella were excellent. I am Celiac and had no issues.

The chef came out to speak with us when we asked the server about gluten free. He made suggestions from the menu. His sister is gluten-intolerant so he knew exactly what was up. They all spoke good English. The shrimp and scallops in coconut sauce was delicious. Five star experience for sure.
