Pax Guest House

After our breakfast at Pax House — and after a night in the loveliest room with such comfortable amenities — my partner and I talked about the need for a six-star review system. Every few months, a reviewer should get an extra star to say, *This* place is perfect. Pax House exceeded every expectation and has been one of the most beautiful, decadent experiences we’ve had in Ireland yet. Our host, John, was so gracious and accommodating; we noted Celiac on the reservation, and he inquired about it during check-in, making extra sure that my husband would have a safe and delicious breakfast experience. We were woefully underprepared for what was to come — a flurry of gluten-free pastries, toast (with a confirmed separate toaster, cutting board, etc), fresh orange juice, yogurts with fruits, and the special of the day, a salmon omelet. All were presented to us as we overlooked Dingle’s misty hills, dotted with sheep. Further, both servers knew who we were and were ready to point out that items were gluten-free. It all made us feel most welcome. Six stars. Seven if I could. Ten, really.
