Worst experience ever!! I got takeout from this restaurant with no issues. Even had GF soy sauce. However, I went to sit in person and had a horrible experience!! The place was empty. They had just opened and I was their only customer so far that day. The owner was working. I told him I was Celiac as I always do. He started freaking out and told me to leave. He said he can't serve me at his restaurant. I was so upset. I tried to explain to him that I had eaten at his restaurant before. I assured him that all I needed was for him to use a clean knife etc to cut the sushi. He was so rude. Told me to get out and that he refused to serve me.
First of all, nobody should be rude to a customer and make them feel horrible like that. I was so embarrassed. I've never been treated like that in my life. And fellow celiacs, you know how hard it is to find a safe place to eat when traveling. I had to catch a bus soon after and had counted on having lunch at this restaurant. So this meant, no lunch, not to mention being utterly embarrassed. A massive THUMBS DOWN.
The restaurant was friendly, if a bit slow. The gf items were clearly marked on the menu and they brought a gf soy sauce out immediately. When the sushi showed up, however, there was Wasabi, which they told us had gluten in it, on all of the plates with the gf sushi. They didn't understand that cross contamination was a worry. It made for a worrisome, stressful dinner. We are hoping my Celiac son does not have a reaction.

Visiting from out of town and stumbled in to ask if they were celiac friendly. Pleasantly surprised they have over 20 options with dedicated, explicit symbols and messaging on the menu. They also have GF soya sauce option brought in a separate soya kettle.
Yes
