Peerless is an upscale new American restaurant located in the railroad district in Ashland. They have a large wine menu and a fairly extensive menu which, unusually, marks all the things that CANNOT be made gluten free. The majority of the menu is or can be prepared gluten free. While expensive the food is quite good. We started the meal with Harissa roasted cauliflower, which was perfectly cooked, crispy and flavorful. I had the pork tenderloin, which was served on top of roasted fingerling potatoes, a pepper and fennel succotash, and with a light mustard sauce. One of my fellow diners had duck confit with sticky purple Jasmine rice, savoy cabbage salad, and a cherry glaze. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, and this is one of the most pleasant meals that I have had in Ashland. No reaction 24 hours later, and I would feel comfortable eating here again. You dhould make sure to inform your waiter, and be aware that their menu is slightly out of date: it lists both the kaluha pork steamed buns and spanikoptita as being available gluten free, but I believe this is incorrect. Still, stick to the dishes that aren't wrapped in bread products and it seems you can't go wrong.
