Not gluten free, options are immensely limited. They try to accommodate but it's not cross contamination safe. The Cajun fried tofu is not, the fries aren't, the rice isn't. It's just not great. Time for just water

Menu was clearly marked. We enjoyed GF tacos during Happy Hour. I didn’t ask about anything but tacos. GF tacos are hard to find back home so I enjoyed the chicken tacos. Wish I would have discovered this place earlier in our vacation.

There is little to NO selection for us gluten free people! Not even the rice. all of the workers were unsure about everything and I would not recommend. #poopy 😛

No precautions to limit risk of cross contamination. Shared fryer for chips. I think the rush to open everything post covid closure has left this facility overwhelmed. I ordered a burrito bowl - talked at length about celiacs - was still given a burrito with a flour tortilla. I would wait until they have found their groove to attempt to eat here.

The food was so delicious, and most items on the menu could be prepared gluten free! The food tasted authentic, and my friends (who can eat gluten) LOVED it as well!! I could even eat the homemade tortilla chips because they are cooked in a separate fryer.

Went here based of reviews Nachos were GF but when I asked they use same fryer. Didn’t ask if they fry anything like nuggets. Anything can be made into a bowl or corn tortillas for tacos.

Found Pelon’s by accident. Walking inside I wasn’t sure about eating there due to me having celiac. Everyone was very nice and the greeter/waiter understood celiac. He recommended several food options. I ended up getting the nacho appetizer - Chica option without the cilantro and jalepenos. My husband ordered the fish and steak tacos. He does not have celiac. We both enjoyed our meals and I had no problems. It was not busy and they have a dedicated fryer!

Menu on the wall is marked clearly with gluten free options. I’m unsure if care is taken to prevent cross contamination in the kitchen, but I did not get sick after eating steak and chicken tacos. They were delicious. I recommend the steak tacos.

Staff was knowledgeable, there were many gf options and the food is delicious. I got chips and salsa, surf’s up burrito without the wrap and the nice waiter threw in a few corn taco shells on the house. Great food, great environment and safe for celiacs!

Can I just say wow?!? My wife and I came back from Old Beach Farmer’s Market where Pelon’s normally shows up, and were thinking about what to eat; definitely something warm to combat the ocean air chill. The choice came down to Chipotle (a fav) and Pelon’s (the local scene); we went with our gut, and ended up at Pelon’s. We both eat gluten free, and read up on Find Me Gluten Free for some ordering tips, and grabbed some burrito bowls. She got the Hang Ten, which she loved the chicken, and I went with the Rip Tide, because I was for sure feeling some pork today. Great experience, great food, great staff, great price. 👌🏻

They have corn tortillas for their tacos, and all burritos can be made as a bowl. Chips are not safe, but staff was very honest and up front that they don't use a lot of gluten in the fryer but they do use some. Staff was also very knowledgeable and helpful.
