Review of Peoples Organic Coffee & Wine Cafe

I was really looking forward to trying this place, but was very disappointed. I ordered the black bean tostada and asked it if it would be deep fried because I have Celiac and was worried about cross contamination. I was told it wasn’t and was safe. When I got my order after the 1st bite I realized it was clearly fried. I spoke to the person who told me it was not fried and she said they pan fry/don’t have a fryer so that was why she said no. She said If the cashier put GF on the order it would’ve been fried In a new/clean pan. The cashier did not put it on the order (I made it clear I needed GF because of celiac/allergy) so it was fried in a pan that other food had been fried in. Clearly all staff is not trained in what to do for people who require GF. In a Restaurant that clearly labels items as GF that is unacceptable. They made me a new one but I all in all I waited about an hour to get my food. I was starving and the food was just mediocre - beans were way overcooked and the dish was barely warm. I wouldn’t come here again.
