Clear lack of understanding about cross contamination. It is a sandwich shop. At first started making gluten free sandwich on same cutting board as normal sandwiches. I said No, we need to start again, and they did and put down sandwich paper. Then they proceeded to use a panini press they claimed was dedicated gluten free. Then after I saw them use the panini press for a non gluten free sandwich so I insisted they remake again.

owner was super helpful, knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. got one of the sandwiches as a salad. it was delicious, reasonably priced and so awesome to eat out!

Eclectic little place with great food. The curry chicken sandwich was generous and delicious. Flaming Nutella marshmallow custard on it's way. Worth the 1. 3 mile hike from the hotel. 1/3 the price and much more knowledgeable about GF than the hotel restaurant.

Cool little spot that shares space with a laundromat. They have can make any of their paninis using gluten free bread; they wrap the sandwich in wax paper before putting it in the press to prevent from cross contamination. The adult grilled cheese is awesome!

I ordered a gluten-free zucchini melt from here on Monday, and it was fantastic! I could barely tell the bread was gluten-free, which is a huge compliment (gluten-free bread is usually hard and tastes like sand). I was so excited because I could have a panini safely - they clean the grill thoroughly so that there is no cross contamination, and I haven't been able to since I was diagnosed with Celiac several years ago. I also ordered the mini peanut butter and banana custard, and it was to die for! I definitely recommend this place. I know I'll be going back!

Their gluten free sandwiches are so good and the staff is super knowledgable in asking about gluten sensitivities vs. celiac and are more than happy to clean the grill before making your sandwich if you need it. Highly recommend!

Such a fun and knowledgable staff. They cater to celiac patrons. Separate grill for their sandwiches. Custards are gluten free for dessert too! Highly recommend!!!

This place was amazing. The second I walked in the owner asked me if I needed help with anything. When I informed him that I am a Celiac he gave me so many options. They have Udi's gluten free bread as well as the option to put your sandwich on a bed of lettuce. Even though it is the most expensive item on the menu, the owner suggested not getting the crab sandwich on gluten free bread because it falls apart. As I was discussing some options with him, the guy cooking the food took the initiative to wipe down the grill, counter, etc. not only was the entire staff, including the owner, extremely knowledgable and considerate of my disease, they were also incredibly friendly. They all asked how my food was and offered to get me a refill. I cannot express my gratitude enough. I highly recommend Persimmon Cafe to my fellow Celiacs!

Look for a laundry cafe combo. They had a great squash sandwich and cheese and ham sandwich. meats and cheeses are gluten free.

Persimmon Cafe was amazing! The owner was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating of my severe gluten allergy. A separate gluten free sandwich grill was brought out and everything was washed down before my food was made. The food was awesome, I had the adult grilled cheese on GF Bread and a monster cookie. We will definitely be back!
