This restaurant was highly recommended by a local (who is not gluten free) as a great spot to get tasty and inexpensive traditional French food. I speak passable French, so I was prepared to have a conversation with the server and/or chef to find something I could eat. I was pleasantly surprised to learn they had an allergen list noting something like 10 or 12 possible allergens with a yes/no tick mark for each menu item. The first allergen on the list was “céreales” (grains), and there were several appetizer, main dish, and dessert options that were grain free. When I ordered, I explained that I was celiac and asked the server to stop me in case I ordered something containing gluten (just in case the allergen list was not up to date).
I had deviled eggs to start, followed by a main of whole sea bream with side of ratatouille, and for dessert a ‘floating island’ (meringue with vanilla custard). All the food was delicious. The total bill for three courses plus wine for myself and my spouse came to 45€.
I did not inquire if they had a dedicated GF fryer, but a perusal of the menu suggests that french fries may be their only deep-fried item, so it’s worth an ask.
Note: They do not take reservations and there was a 30+ minute wait on a Tuesday night.
