Awful experience not a single gluten free option. And even if there were it was covered in regular bread crumbs on the counter. So confused why this is number 1 ranked for gf. Super lame.

I did not get sick but the sandwich was small (typical small slices of gf bread) and little to no meat. The regular sandwich had double the meat as the gf sandwich. The bread was not great either I would assume they changed the bread from the pictures posted from earlier dates it was just a piece of white bread. I was still hungry after:(

The manager was so knowledgeable and helpful! He even gave me an ingredients list of the bread and then they made my sandwich on a different tray. He also told me the concern of the veggies possibly having cross contamination!

They take extra care on GF orders and even maintain a seperate toaster. (If you're skin-on contact sensitive, wipe down a table first.)

We love Pickles and Swiss, have been coming here since the Goleta store opened and to the Paseo Nuevo prior to that. They ask when you are ordering gluten free if it is an allergy, and if so they change their gloves and use the proper precautions. Have never gotten sick from there.

My celiac daughter loves the ham and cheese sandwiches here toasted on their gluten free bread. They are very conscious about cross contamination and change their gloves and use a separate surface to prepare the gluten free sandwiches.

The food was really good but the guy taking my order didn't know anything. I had to speak to someone (maybe the manager?) who actually knew what I was talking about and did a really good job. He separated everything and made sure there was no cross contamination

Had delicious sandwich on gluten free bread. they asked if I was celiac or if it was a preference, which tells me they understand and will go to greater means to avoid cross contamination.

The GF sandwich tastes great. 5 stars because I did not get sick. The only negative is that I had to buy two sandwiches to fill up, which is a little pricey for lunch for a hungry dude.

Every person that works there is super helpful and very well informed about celiac disease and how to keep cross contamination from happening. It's one of the only places in Santa Barbara this experienced with gluten free that isn't a dedicated facility. The sandwiches are very good and staff very friendly.

The honey gobble was the best sandwich I've ever had since being diagnosed celiac 4 years ago. They told me they were preparing it separately so there will be a slightly longer wait which I didn't mind at all, it was reassuring if anything. You can buy the bread in loaves too if you like it, all home made!

Found this restaurant on this site. Called ahead to confirm their reviews and the adherence to safety regarding cross contamination. Very friendly, put me at ease with their steps to avoid cc. When we arrived explained how they set up to ensure safety. Their bread is amazing!! They make their own and sell it by the loaf too. Sandwiches were unreal! Most items except for three or four are all safe to eat. Everything made fresh to order. Great stop! Both gluten free and non gf eaters very satisfied with their order!

Amazing service. Though there are gluten-ness options, they have a separate prepping station for all gluten free goodies and are very knowledgable about celiac and its limitations. Plus, they have their own specialty gf bread that blew my mind. Above all, they cared and I felt safer knowing that they cared about me as a human.
