Piebury Corner - The Pie Bar

I came here two days in a row- I got the mushroom pie with peas the first day and the spicy bean and veggie pie with creamy mash the second. I liked the crust of the pie, but not as much the filling. The mushroom pie is like stuffed full of mushrooms tightly packed inside. I thought it would be more soupy. I left out a lot of the mushrooms because it just wasn’t the right consistency for me. You are given gravy, so that greatly helps make it less dry. The next day I got the bean and veggie because I thought it might be soupier, but it was also quite dry which I did not like very much. Part of the pie was also a little burnt. I asked about the cheese and tomato pie and was told that it is pretty solid inside. The mash I got with that pie was also not as creamy as I would have liked, but it tasted good drenched in gravy. Overall, I just think it’s awesome that there is a place with savory gluten free pies, so they get a lot of points for that. Vegan gluten free gravy is another plus. I would return here if I was really craving pie.

We were walking around the area, stumbled across this restaurant, and saw that they had Gluten Free Pies (which, I don’t have to tell you, is pretty rare to find). We had the tomato and mozzarella pie, and the mushrooms with cream and paprika pie (unfortunately, the gluten free pies are also their vegetarian pies, so no meat pie options). The tomato ad mozzarella one was good, but the mushroom one was AMAZING! I loved it!
