I used to eat here all the time and never got sick, but at my most recent visit they informed me that they no longer had the paper to put their gf crusts on while preparing the pizza or the pans they put it on in the oven to keep it separate from the gluten items.
Because of this I ordered a salad but employees did not know which dressings were gf. Would not recommend eating here if you have celiac
Warning! I cannot recommend this place for gluten free folks. They do offer a gluten free crust and a cauliflower crust, however the staff didn’t seem to have any understanding about gluten and cross contamination. I went on Tuesday and I’m just starting to feel better on Friday. My husband and I are both GF, so we both ordered cauliflower crust. The employee put our crust on dirty boards that had food stuck to them. I asked if they had clean ones, so he transferred the same crust to a clean board. If a restaurant is going to offer GF crust, they should know how to prepare it. We won’t go back due to our experience, but to be honest the food was mediocre at best and the cauliflower crust is an extra $3.
Had a positive experience at Pieology. Staff were willing to change gloves and wash their hands. They cooked the pizza on a pan, so it did not touch potentially contaminated surfaces. They used clean utensils, dedicated gluten free toppings. The marinara sauce contains gluten, but they were able to make a pizza with pesto sauce instead. The pizza was very good.
