Staff knowledgeable about GF. I went there twice and I take grilled shrimps (with rice) and the mussels soup. They were great. No GF menu but the safe meals are marked in the general menu. I had no reaction.
The waiter was aware of how to make my meal GF, and the shrimp Caesar (no croutons) that I got was delicious! All GF options are marked on the menu.
Menu is marked with gf options, good amount of options too. Server was helpful and receptive. I got the grilled platter with potatoes. Was simple and good. Not the best seafood ever, but was safe and did not get sick from it. Get a table by the back windows for a view of the sea lions!
I ordered the grilled plater (salmon, cod, and shrimp) while my partner got the clam chowder with a Ceasar salad. The waiter seemed very aware of celiac and after communicating that we would be sharing the salad and as such wanted it on the side all seemed well.
When the food came the salad and glutin containing clam chowder were touching so the kitchen clearly didn't get the message. Furthermore the platter portions were pretty small and both of us though the food was okay, not great but not bad either.
For the price you can certainly find better food around SF.
We also had a great experience with Tucker! He definitely double checked with the kitchen on all factors! My daughter and I are both GF.. celiacs.. I had the pier market mixed grill and the garlic Dungeness crab. Fries are cross contaminated. They will give extra veggies or a garlic steamed potato...sooo good!!
Had a great dinner with Tucker as my server. He was very careful and double checked with the chef for me! Very tasty food and a wonderful experience. Had the halibut
I'm a bit torn on my review. They were very educated on gluten free, but there was cross contamination flying everywhere. I got the blackened grilled shrimp skewers, rice pilaf and steamed veggies. I did have a reaction. The service was very good, the food was so-so, the price was high. I wouldnt go back.
We ordered garlic fries and a half Dungeness crab for an appetizer, they are both gluten free and they came out fine. Then I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp gluten free, which on the menu is labeled as can be modified gluten free and it came out with croutons on it. The server wasn't knowledgeable on how to put gluten free into their system either.
While they have a lot of options the food is not great. I got shrimp scampi and the shrimp was chewy and overcooked. Almost like it was frozen and reheated. The potatoes we also bland and the coleslaw was overly drenched in mayo.
The service is also something to be desired. We waited forever to order our drinks and wait for them to come. My husband asked for more cocktail sauce for his fried calamari which never came. Basically, the restaurant banks on its location, in a highly visited tourist area, rather than food quality.
Loved having a gf menu to choose from. It is limited, and they were out of certain types of catch that day. The waitress was very helpful and knowledgable!
