Pietro's On the River

Pietro’s was always one of my favorite restaurants. The owners recently retired and sold it. The new owners are renovating and hope to open February 2024. Hopefully it will be just as good!!!

Staff and kitchen very knowledgable. Oysters Monte Carlo are amazing. Wide selection of foods tha t can be done gluten free.

How would you rate the taste and quality of the gluten-free food you tried?

— Excellent

I called ahead of time and was told they do not have a separate gluten free menu, but most items on the menu can be made gluten-free. Our waitress was not aware of what was GF but checked on all items I asked about. Food was very good!! I was disappointed I could not get rice pilaf that came with my dinner, and they did not tell me ahead of time and did not offer a substitute.

Waiter was very knowledgeable and substituted mixed vegetables when he found out the veggie side had breadcrumbs. They use cornstarch to thicken sauces, not flour.

Very few places in the area understand celiac friendly let alone offer amazing celiac friendly food. Tell staff you have celiac and what appeals to your palate and enjoy the safe and delicious result!

This fine dining establishment takes very good care of this celiac. I've been there twice and haven't had a problem. Everyone who works there is very courteous and the chef is eager to answer questions about safe dining options. I highly recommend this place on the water for a special dinner. I had the lamb chops and they were delicious! There's a creme brulee offering as well.
