Pineapple Pete is not a restaurant we would recommend for gluten-free and celiac visitors to the island. No gluten-free labels on the menu. Other people’s reviews tell stories of unhelpful staff and getting “glutened” . . .
We tried sushi rolls that seemed safe from description, felt bloated afterwards . . .
For gluten-free options we DO RECOMMEND in SXM check out our profile on Find Me Gluten Free and our Gluten-Free And Celiac Guide To St Martin And Sint Maarten (SXM) blog post . . .

Food was delicious and staff appeared knowledgeable about celiac. Unfortunately I was definitely glutened here.

Staff was not knowledgeable about gluten nor were they willing to adapt any recipe for me. Mediocre food at best.
Staff was helpful and knowledgeable.
Had GF pasta made adjustments for no dairy sauce
Excellent and no issues at all. I have been there twice now. They are great about adapting items. An item that I wanted had a sauce that was not gf, but the chef offered to make the sauce without that ingredient (or made something very similar). It was delicious. Good thing to know: Their meat and fish are cooked plain on a separate grill from everything else.
