They do have gluten free bread but it was very small compared to their normal sandwiches. He told me other celiacs haven’t had problems with his bread so i don’t think he truly understands what the disease is. I asked him if I could get two because the bread was so much smaller so he made two and then they charged me for ordering two sandwiches! I said there was a misunderstanding and I didn’t order two, he made me two because the size is comparably smaller and he said no and it’s not fair to him because the gluten free bread is more expensive. I don’t understand why they do an additional charge for gluten free bread then! And there was definitely cross contamination. Disappointed and unimpressed.

Went to Pino’s sandwiches, spoke to Pino, as soon as you say Gluten Free him and his staff know exactly what to do, he pulled out some gluten free bread and uses a clean knife only for gf bread, he put down sheets of baking paper on the boards and they have SEPARATE grill just for gluten free, the workers knew exactly what to do, I recommend to get 2 of the sandwiches as they a little smaller than the ones with gluten, but they are only €5-6 euro so it isn’t too bad + €1 for gf bread, overall 10/10 would visit again

Found this restaurant on this app and decided to give it a try—it’s very close to where we stayed. Luckily others on here prepared us for a line. It was about a 15 min wait to order. Pino was there and very happily made our sandwiches. I got the “Fantasy” which is basically pick your own, so I did turkey, mozzarella, spinach, onion, and pesto (1 meat, 3 toppings, 1 sauce). Pino did mention that the gf bread was much smaller, and it certainly was. If I was hungrier, I’d get 2 sandwiches (they are not very expensive, like 6 euro each). All was very delicious. They toasted it, too. I think there are a lot of exchange students from the US who are there, everybody was American and young. The girls in front of us were from a university in Miami and made fun of my sandwich being small and they didn’t think it would taste good, which I did not appreciate. This was the only negative, and has nothing to do with the food or the service. The staff spoke perfect English to us. Not very much outdoor seating, so we ate inside with a great atmosphere. Will definitely be returning if we can.

Extremely good sandwich/pressed paninis! Very knowledgeable about gluten free and how to stop cross contamination! Go earlier than later as they make AMAZING food and everyone knows it! Had 3 sandwiches from here and had no problems. They specified that they had a panini press that is just for gluten free sandwiches!

Great GF sandwich. The owner takes precautions for cross contamination. No issues. Very popular place. Go early. There will likely be a line, but it moves quick. Owner could not be nicer.

Gluten free bread but it’s half the size of the regular and a euro extra
Would not return because of high danger of cross contamination - especially when there are safe exclusively GF Sandwhuch places like Sgrano nearby. I explained my GF needs and the first person in the production line washed their hands was very careful and communicated my GF needs to the next in line BUT they went onto to use the same spoon he had used for glutened breads to spread my pesto and again for cream cheese. The wrapping place was not cleaned down either. My non-coeliac friends said the sandwiches were tasty and good value.

Such a great spot! The staff is awesome and the sandwich was delicious. Like other reviews say, there may be possible cross contamination, but I did not get sick. I felt comfortable they understood I couldn’t have gluten or dairy. Would highly recommend!

I’m torn on this one. Came because of all the high ratings and safety reviews. There is super high risk for cross contamination here. I nervously watched them make my sandwich. It’s right beside the other bread. Crumbs flying everywhere. I’m not certain the sauces wouldn’t be contaminated. I’ll update my review later if I feel sick.
The pros:
Super friendly. I also have a dairy allergy and wasn’t sure what to order when it was my turn. The older man walked me through making a sandwich for me. Super friendly. There were 2 other people behind the counter. All so nice and personably and nobody rushed me for a small space.

Absolute Empfehlung!

This hidden gem is the best for a delicious quick sandwich. They have gluten free bread and let you know it’s smaller than the normal panninis but they load it up with meats and cheese. They serve it warm and wrapped in different paper. I highly recommend stopping at Pino’s.

This is a sandwich shop with other normal bread, but the staff was really careful. The wiped down all the counters and knives, got separate plates out for me and wiped down the panini press. The bread was small, but he piled on the meat, cheese and toppings and it was filing. Highly recommend, just make sure you tell them you are celiac. They even remembered me the next day when I came back.

Really great! I was so happy to be able to enjoy a panini while in Florence. The bun is a lot smaller, but still very delicious. They cleaned the panini press before making mine. Great price too!

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They warned me that the glutenfree bun is much smaller because he has not found any better ones in a larger size. I didn't care and he filled up the sandwich so much, I was extremely full even though it looked so little at first and it tasted amazing. They clean the knives, toaster, etc and wash their hands before touching the glutenfree bread.

I love this place for a quick bite to eat! The staff is extremely friendly and the food is absolutely amazing!
I ate here ~20-30 times when I was studying in Florence. Their sandwiches are hands-down the best I’ve had. I cannot remember ever getting sick from their sandwiches. The home-made pesto, crema di funghi sauce, and salsa picante are unbelievable! Reasonable prices, well worth a visit when in Florence. Also check out nearby StarBene gluten free bakery when in the area!
The staff was very accommodating for gluten free bread with the paninis. Cleared off all of the surfaces and knifes. Delicious bread, one of the better ones I’ve tasted
