I was pretty confident about eating here after reading reviews but unfortunately I did get glutened. I had the chicken and carne asada tacos with a side of black beans and chips. When I ordered I was told that nothing with gluten goes in the fryer, which is the usual culprit, so I’m not sure what happened. Possibly cross contact elsewhere in the kitchen. Food was good but not worth it for how I’m feeling this morning. Be careful!

I had two chicken tacos, and a side of frijoles with chips. My partner ordered as we were getting it to go, but he confirmed with them that it was all gluten free, though when he told the cashier the order she asked for a reminder as to what celiac was, but when he said gluten free she quickly confirmed it was. Could have just been a moment of memory lapse for her but I do feel like if the staff was well trained for Celiac that would not have been necessary.
I also had a ginger beer (I don't remember the name but it was in a dark long neck bottle). Food was really delicious and so far (6hours later) I feel just fine.
We're not local, but anytime we're in Hood River to visit family we are already planning to make a return.

My favorite local restaurant! Their menu has recently changed and it is no longer completely gf. Still, very little has gluten on the menu. Definitely still put out a celiac alert when you order. The carne asada is insanely good, as are their chicken, house-made chips and guacamole! They now have a salted caramel flan de queso that will blow your mind! Great food! If you’re not into strong cheese, you might want to order the cojita cheese on the side. They put it on a lot of their dishes.

Incredible food, great drinks, and super nice people! Everything in the menu is gluten free except for the dessert. Notable standouts are the pollo negro, pescado, xev salad (jicama, which I normally don’t care for, but it was delicious), and yuca fries (the green chili sauce is one of the great things I’ve ever tasted). Finish it off with the amazing house mezcal margarita! So good!

Everything on their menu was available gluten free, other than dessert. The food was delicious, and we would absolutely come back when in the area again. It was a great experience. My partner has celiac and we had no problem eating there.

The whole menu is gf except desserts! This place has some seriously delicious and interesting food. The chips are house made and not contaminated. The menu is a bit meat heavy but there are some great vegetarian options. I had the squash "special" taco (which had delicious sauce and beautiful purple edible flower garnish), the potato taco, and the pumpkin seed/tomatillo dip. The chef definitely knows what they're doing in terms of combining amazing flavors. There's tons of lovely outdoor seating (in adorable downtown White Salmon). Friendly service. I would drive an hour from Portland just to eat here again.

Our server explained that everything on the menu was gluten free except for the desserts, so my husband and I felt very confident eating there. The food was very fresh and delicious. The aquas frescas have no added sugars. I had the Chaya Playa which very refreshing.

Staff was very friendly & aware of cross contamination. Their chips are handmade in house and safe. The tacos are some of the best I've ever had! Will be back for sure.
