This was my first time at PL8. My wife had been their twice and recommend we try it. With all new restaurants, I asked everyone lots of questions. Our server understood my situation the moment I started asking questions. We talked about soy, wasabi and fish eggs. He explained how the kitchen worked and the chiefs work-ethic.
I had cut fish, both nigiri and sashimi, and it looked, smelled and tasted fantastic. My wife and I shared the GF edamame and beans. We also split one of the GF rolls on the GF menu. I don't recall the name but it had tuna, yellow-tail, avocado, cilantro and fish eggs (Masago or Tobiko). It was one of the best rolls I have experienced.
First, I felt fine after eating at PL8. Second, our server was spot-on. It showed that he has been there for a while and he knows his stuff. Third, the food was also spot-on.
