I ordered a pumpkin cider because it was on special for October. Unfortunately for me she brought a pumpkin BEER! Which was realized after I took a large swig of. The waitress seemed to be sympathetic but that was a huge error. I canceled my food order and my spouse decided to get his to go. Since I was going to get sick 100%.
The waitress explained the situation to the manager, Gabby, and Gabby went over and beyond to try to rectify this error. Even though my burger order was canceled she made it and sent me home with it. In addition she sent me home with chicken tensor because she was worried my burger would not reheat well. She provided me with a couple of ginger ales to help settle my stomach too.
On top of that she then comped the entire bill. Customer service was fantastic. The chicken tendors were pretty amazing.
I would try them again but probably all for someone that is uncertain of my sickness.
BEWARE!! They changed their menu and some of the dishes that were gluten free, are not anymore. So double check what you are getting before you eat!
GF items are marked in the menu and looks like they have a decent understanding and protocols. But - our kids meal arrived with a regular bun 😨 luckily we noticed after one bite but what’s the use of having good GF options if eventually you get wrong order. The items are not flagged when served like other places and it’s very problematic. If you go there - double and triple check what you got before taking a bite
Great food! All of their fried items are made with rice flour and everything that goes in the fryer is safe/gluten free. They offer some appetizer type things that you can’t order in a lot of other restaurants, including chicken tenders/wings, Buffalo shrimp, jalapeño poppers and firecracker cauliflower. Waitress was pretty knowledgeable and anything she wasn’t sure about, she made sure to ask the chef and confirm.
DO NOT EAT FROM HERE IF YOU ARE GLUTEN SENSITIVE, GLUTEN INTOLERANT, ETC. They may claim that this menu item and that menu item is gluten free, but that's truly not the case. You know how I know? My partner has a gluten allergy. Whenever she has more than a tablespoon of gluten, she gets very sick.
After eating from Plan B tonight, she became gravely ill. I'm talking more ill than I've ever seen her get from having gluten. This means one of two things. 1) The food had a whole lot of gluten, and/or 2) The food was contaminated or cooked improperly and caused food poisoning. Either way, both are serious enough that we plan to take recourse against the restaurant. We will be reporting them to the local health department and any other authority that may be able to take the proper actions to ensure this never happens to anyone ever again. I, too, have not been feeling well after eating from Plan B tonight, so I expect it has more to do with foodborne illness over anything else. DO NOT EAT FROM HERE!
As for other problems... Plan B suffers from "failure-to-get-things-right-itis". My partner and I are both immunocompromized, so we asked if they would do curbside pickup. The guy we spoke with, Tim or something like that, said he could do it for us. Yet, when we arrived, he didn't answer the phone, and whoever did answer would only walk out to meet one of us and not bring it to our car. Because we had already paid for the food, we had no other choice but to get out of the car. If either or both of us get COVID, we'll know it happened because of Plan B because we don't go anywhere else.
Furthermore, prior to COVID, I used to order delivery from Plan B, only to have them mess it up in one way or another. They'd forget something, cook something poorly, ignore my allergies, and the list goes on. I and other family and close friends have all gotten sick from Plan B at one point or another. Tonight's debacle ensured we would never return, and I caution anyone reading this to avoid this place.
They have dedicated fryers. They have gf tater tots which is really nice!! I tried the gf chili soup and it wasn’t the best. The burgers are average but do come on a gf roll which is good. The fries are thin and not the best. I’m still very pleased though with the options they provide and it’s really nice to have a dedicated gf fryer with many options for food. I however do realize I can make a better burger and fry meal at home. Gf nachos are also available but I haven’t tried them yet.
Went with my hubbs and 2 boys (11&9 both celiac). Ordered wings, chx tenders, 2orders of onion rings, and 2 orders of fries. All gf! Dedicated fryer! All that and a soda bill came to $55.
They do a great job of taking special care and they actually want to be accommodating. Only downside is my son also can’t eat dairy and they use dairy in all their breaded foods which share the same fryer for fries. So he had a burger with a side salad. That was too bad. But all in all, a lot of choices. Especially if dairy is not an issue for you.
By far one of the best restaurants I've eaten at since being diagnosed celiac 4 years ago. They had soooo many options. They use rice flours for there breading and have separate fryers. You can have almost anything but there non gf hamburger buns....I had a ground pork burger w tots....food was amazing!!!!
This place was so awesome. They only use rice flower for their breading so everything fried is naturally gluten free. I had the Parmesan garlic wings and truffle oil French fries and they were amazing. The kids menu was great because it already had marked gluten free items - so rare. My daughter had the gluten free fish sticks and tater tots and loved it! Two thumbs up from the whole family (even the not gluten free ones)! Highly recommend!
I am confused by all the negative reviews, I have been here many times and when you say you have an allergy the manager personally ensures your food is safe. The food is great and they have many options.
While all the fried foods are cross contaminated, they clearly communicate this in person and label it on the menu.
The menu states gf, but reality is that there is a lot of cross contamination. The staff is rude when you ask for gf. How do you have the right to ask of It's an allergy or preference. Just make it and keep it gf. On top of that make sure you don't contaminate. horrible. Avoid at all cost.
this place makes a good effort to cater to allergies. the manager came to our table and let me know that things are fried all together. however, I didn't think that meant things on the gluten free menu. it's billed as celiac friendly and their chicken tenders, which are on the gluten free menu, are not 100% gluten free. this is not celiac friendly.
Absolutely not CELIAC friendly.
All fried food is fried in same oil and Fryer as gluten items .
We pretty much figured out that we could have a burger no bun on top of lettuce.
mashed potatoes available on special request do not order alone. Contains gluten
Good food. Gf beer and buns. Really rude waitress. No dedicated fryer but a nice gf menu.
Used to go here or get take out almost once a month for years but the last two years, this place has been going downhill. Even got contaminated once because the waitress put my mother in law's plate on top of mine and carried it like that. I got take out recently to give another chance and the honey mustard tenders had a chemically smell and the tater tots were mush. No thank you
If you have Celiac and need GF options do not trust their menu and absolutely do not order the seared salmon right now that is LABELED GF. They don’t even have the gf orzo to make it. I have celiac and made sure to specify that I have a gluten allergy and ordered the seared salmon. They must have just changed the menu because over the summer/fall they had a seared salmon with creamed corn and potatoes. That’s what I wanted! Unfortunately they changed the meal but used the same name so I didn’t realize until I got my order. When I saw it I knew it wasn’t what I ordered and didn’t think it was GF so I didn’t touch it. I double checked the menu to make sure what I ordered was GF and it in fact was supposed to be GF. When I went to talk to employees about it they said that the orzo that the salmon was on was NOT gluten free and that they don’t even have GF orzo yet. They wouldn’t be getting it in til next week yet they were advertising this dish as being GF. I asked for a refund and went home to eat… it was such a disappointment. I’ve spent so much money eating there since it’s one of the only local places that has GF options that are safe from cross contact and I can’t believe they almost just poisoned me. The scariest part is the only reason I even questioned it was because I thought I ordered a different seared salmon- if I knew the menu was changed and ordered the seared salmon on orzo labeled GF I would have ate it and I wouldn’t have known until it was too late and I would have been sick for weeks…. Please beware if you have celiac… I really hope they take this more seriously in the future but I’m not sure if I’ll ever feel comfortable going back there.
