Review of Plein Café Wilhelmina

Review

This restaurant has a seperate gluten free menu, with some nice choices (expect mostly dishes with chicken). All the waiters at our table knew that 1 guest ordered gluten free. They cannot guarantuee 100% no cross contamination, but they do their best. Edit: watch out! My first experience was great, so we decided tot eat here again. I felt secure because of the first time, but the day after our dinner I had bowel problems (which I thought were due to the tropical heat). On our last day in Curaçao we had lunch at Plein Wilhelmina. My gluten free salad was served with a different dressing than the first time, so I checked with the waitress just to be sure. She asked the cook and gave me olive oil instead, because the dressing contained mayonnaise, which wasn't gluten free. On this third and our second occasion my oven baked potatoes were served with that same mayonnaise. That was where my bowel problems came from. So they are not as conscious and aware as I thought. Be aware of this risk when you eat here!
