Ponces is our go to neighborhood spot for Mexican food, though not everything is as safe as we’d like. Overall not as safe as some other Mexican places but it’s close so we often risk it, never had an issue with gluten(though with cheese, yes). They seem fairly knowledgeable about gluten but you have to catch them at a non busy time.
They house make their corn tortillas (especially for fajitas are awesome) and for tacos. Their chips are NOT safe so we avoid those, though usually get extra tortillas. Rolled tacos may be safe, but it’s unclear so we generally avoid.
They stopped serving black beans and moved all to pinto which some in my family can’t do… so that was a bummer. Anyway good comfort Mexican food with a bit of a higher risk… fajitas and tacos are probably your best bet. And margaritas.
