Celiac-owned and operated. We are 100% dedicated gluten-free.
Porkbutt BBQ began in 2022 as a guest chef experience at Homemade to-go! We got our food truck rolling in April 2023, and won an award in Indy's 2023 Best of Colorado Springs (our first season out! Wow!). We opened our first brick & mortar location in June 2024!
I love Porkbutt! The food there is amazing and can be totally trusted to be gluten free. From the minute I walk in the door I feel welcome and know I’m in for a great meal. Last Thursday I had the lunch special :BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger! It was delicious! Thank you Porkbutt for raising the bar and giving Colorado Springs a great Gluten Free restaurant.
The service was incredible and the food was fantastic! I got the fried chicken sandwich, which was amazing and I have no idea when the last time I had a fried chicken sandwich. Certainly not since being GF. I also got the brussel sprouts which have a hot maple syrup glaze, which was very good. They also sell baked goods from a local dedicated GF facility. I got the gf, vegan mini chocolate chip cookies to snack on throughout my trip. I will absolutely be visiting again! Oh and most of their menu is dairy free as well.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience here! Everything is GF and there are color coded dots to denote other allergies-AWESOME! The staff was so welcoming, kind, helpful, and just great souls all around.
Get there early if you want the brisket!! In the short time my husband and I were in there, probably 10 people came in asking for it.
We had the pulled pork sandwiches, Carolina gold BBQ sauce, sweet potato fries, fried chicken Mac and cheese and blueberry cheesecake! I’m DF as well, but my husband THOROUGHLY enjoyed all the gluten-free- dairy-full treats! He said you’d never know any of it GF! And of course, I also really enjoyed the food! It was terrific!
GO HERE!!
Some of the best bbq I've EVER had!!! My wife has celiac, I do not, but choose to be GF and be on the life long journey with her. This food is soooo good! I couldn't believe it was actually GF. From the bbread to the deserts and sauces. OMG. And my wife felt great the next day. Can't wait to return
This is a 100% gluten-free facility and the food is delicious! The owners and staff are very knowledgeable (one of the owners has celiac), but their menu is clearly marked for other allergies as well. The fried chicken is probably the best I’ve had PERIOD, and the mac&cheese and the sweet potato fries were delicious. We had family with us that are not gluten sensitive and they loved the BBQ as well. This is really a gem - delicious and safe food prepared by people who care!!!!
Visiting family in Colorado Springs and we decided to check this out. Apparently the chef has celiac disease, so everything is gluten free. I had the brisket and fried Brussels sprouts, which I thoroughly enjoyed. My husband had the ribs and wasn’t too impressed, but he’s from Chicago, what else can I say? My son and his family enjoyed it and plan to make it one of their regulars. Of course, having celiac, it’s a delight to find a dedicated gluten free restaurant. Just be sure to check the schedule as they are only open Wednesday through Saturday
Porkbutt has the best BBQ in town, and everything is GF to boot. The owners were so friendly and accommodating with my other food insensitivities (namely onion and almond) and could quickly tell me what was safe and what I should avoid on the menu. Fabulous experience and we can’t wait to go back.
I felt like this place really cared about making sure the food was ok for my food restriction. I ordered the brisket, beans, cornbread and a brownie. Everything was very delicious. I will return at some point when I’m in the area. Unfortunately it isn’t close to my residence.
OMG I have celiacs. I’ve traveled a lot and I love barbecue this place is the best barbecue restaurant I have ever eaten in!! it is dedicated gluten-free You have to try everything The barbecue is amazing The Mac n cheese amazing The corn bread is brilliant ! The smashed potatoes are crazy amazing ! The owners wife has celiacs. And he makes all of the meat and she makes all of the other recipes they are such sweet kind people they really understand the issues that we face finding a decent restaurant they have created the best dedicated gluten-free barbecue restaurant If you are anywhere in the area you should drive over there and eat You won’t regret it I highly recommend this place it was so fabulous
Truly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to, let alone the best GF spot. The BBQ is PHENOMENAL — I’m from the South & it can be hard to find BBQ that lives up to back home!! The fact it’s dedicated gluten free is really just a bonus on an amazing spot. The desserts are incredible, as is the friendly service. They’re always updating the menu and adding specials (which are always great), and just the standard menu alone is worth the drive. A must visit if you’re anywhere near the Springs.
Amazing!! The entire facility is gluten free/celiac safe, the owner said that his wife is celiac. Everything my family had was delicious from the buns for the sandwiches, to mac and cheese, even a gf fried chicken sandwich, and Mississippi mud pie! To top it off the owner is so friendly! We will definitely be back next time we are visiting!
Holy cow!!! HEAVEN!!! I appreciate that I can order anything on the menu, so I went a little overboard and ordered basically everything, and every thing I put in my mouth surprised me with flavor, texture, and deliciousness! It was all so, so good! I also like that they offer free delivery on orders over $100, so when several family members are sick, we can eat in the comfort of our home and I don’t have to worry about cleaning up the kids’ gluten mess. My littlest kids ate everything in their meals for the first time in… actually, I think the first time, period. They are careful about listing any other allergens in each item too.
Thank you, Porkbutt!!! Seriously!
Amazing food! We got fried Brussels sprouts, fries smashed potatoes, the Gobbler, pulled pork Mac and chicken nuggets. ALL of it was delicious!
I have been waiting to try this place out and it does not disappoint. We got the brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, Mac and cheese and sweet potato fries. All were excellent. The pork had a bit of a kick to it, spicy! The tart cherry hand pie was yummy but was small and I would have preferred it warm. So next time I will take it home and heat it up. We also got a chicken pot pie but that will be for another day!
Update Nov 2024. They are now a brick and mortar restaurant. No more food truck. Lots of options. All gf.
Thank you so much for your support this summer! So glad you enjoyed your food!
Freaking fantastic BBQ!! Their sides, to die for! And the fact that EVERYTHING is GF?!?! I mean come on! The only feedback I have, is that coming from the Carolinas, I wish the pulled pork didn’t come with sauce already on it. Other than that, everything was delish! Will definitely be returning…frequently! 😋
AMAZING!!!!!The owners are super friendly and staff is great. The food is unbelievable I may have to move to the Springs to feed my new addiction.
I am visiting from Tennessee. I am a new celiac and while learning I am also learning where to eat as I travel. The people at this restaurant are amazing, the lady was super kind and helpful and the food was amazing. We even discussed if I could order and have things sent back to Tennessee. I am blessed to be able to travel the country and when I find places with great food, service and care I like to leave a comment. This food was very good snd it did not make me sick. That’s a win in my book. Lastly I am picky on my BBQ and this is really good BBQ. The chef truly knows how to prepare a great meal.
Bonnie, one of the owners is a celiac. It’s great to have a celiac design a resturant for her safety and we all get to benefit from her work environment safety! Having said that the food is amazing, the sides are how I judge a BBQ place and the coleslaw, potato salid and fried Brussels sprouts were amazing! The BBQ always matches the sides and this time they were all balanced and equal. A definite go again and again!
Owner and staff are very knowledgeable about allergies of all kinds. I had the best fried chicken sandwich I have ever had! So tender and juicy with great flavor. We’ve made the drive from northern Colorado to have lunch here. It’s that good!
I ordered the trio (brisket, sausage and pulled pork) fried chicken, potato salad, brussel sprouts, Mac n cheese, blue berry pie, cherry pie, and apple spiced cake. The place was clean, and great customer service. It's also dedicated gluten free. The food was AMAZING! The food was nice and juicy. I definitely recommend this place to everyone including those who eat gluten foods.
I haven’t been able to find gluten free cornbread and Mac n cheese so when I came across this place I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed! It’s some of the best GF corn bread and Mac n cheese I’ve ever had.
Since I was in training for 2 days, we decided to treat ourselves tonight. Porkbutt BBQ conveniently announced that they deliver, and we were sold. I have been telling my hubby about them since they opened, and he finally got to try it. EVERYTHING is gluten-free. Their brisket and ribs are soooooo smokey and sooooo moist and flavorful. (And the fried chicken thighs... yum.) We tried the fried brussel sprouts and the beans, too. The kiddo enjoyed the smoked burger and mac-n-cheese bombs (smothered with green chili.) Their customer service is TOP-NOTCH too. There was a minor snafu with the mac-n-cheese, as it was left off the delivery. The owners insisted on making it right, delivering it to us themselves. Sorry - no food pics. We devoured the deliciousness immediately. I highly recommend them to anyone, gluten-free or not!
p.s. We ordered a couple of their pies at Christmas and were NOT disappointed. I don't know how we kept any around past the first day.
