What a great experience! I had the gluten free crab cake on a house salad with ranch and had no issues with cross contamination. The staff took careful measures by entering my allergy/celiac information into the computer and even offered up a gluten free roll. We will definitely go back.

What a treat to be able to safely eat one of my favorite foods! The staff made me feel 100% safe eating from this kitchen. It also was not very busy which makes me feel like there’s less room for mix up. Based on previous reviews, it seems like they changed their menu. I didn’t see a chicken sandwich or tacos. Check on their website for gluten free menu. I got the crab cake sandwich and it was delicious. I just wish they used corn tortilla chips instead of flour so I could safely eat the fries since they share a fryer (non-gf people raved about the fries!) I’ll definitely be back :)

Port House Grill was the perfect pit stop as we drove up 95. The staff was super friendly and attentive, while sticking to social distancing protocols. I had a grilled chicken sandwich on a gf bun. Staff made a point of asking if it was an allergy or a preference, which tells me they understand the difference and take precautions necessary. I also got guacamole and they provided gf chips. My boyfriend said the burger was delicious and almost too juicy (if that’s even possible). Highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious crab cakes! And all the sides are freshly made in house. I had the potato salad and fresh veggie of the day. Even the ice cream is home made! I had a scoop of blueberry for dessert. Delish! Definitely will stop here again when driving through Maryland. Staff was wonderful as well!

Such a rare treat to be able to go out to eat safely. Couldn't recommend more highly. 100% gluten free crab cake...best of the best. They take celiac so seriously and are so understanding and kind.

Excellent. True MD crabcake which should always be gluten free but rarely is. Never had an issue and been here many many times. Stead sandwich is great, burgers are great, islander salad is great, and of course the crabcakes.
Great little place! We were in town for our anniversary and found it on the GF app. Online ordering for gluten free options has never been easier. Lots of menu options and reasonably priced for the portions and quality.

Amazing. Port House Grill was a wonderful stop our visit to North East. The staff and incredibly friendly, everyone is very aware of allergies and allergens, and the food was great. The crab cakes, potato salad, and coleslaw were great. Others in my party also enjoyed the steak sandwich and guac with crab meat. Be careful, as the fryer is shared and the chips are flour based. Otherwise, most everything can be made gluten free. Would visit North East again simply to eat here again.

Absolutely amazing! Definitely a hidden gem. I haven't had a crab cake in 5yrs and it was so good! I was full after my meal but definitely looking forward going back and trying their crab bisque!!! Thank you for providing gf foods!
What a pleasure when the staff understands the GF/Celiac thing. This place was on their game and the crabcakes were undoubtedly the best I have ever eaten. And to be able to eat crab bisque also (first time since being diagnosed about 1.5 years ago), I was in heaven. Excellent homemade ice cream ad well.

Went to Port House Grill for dinner last night. I have celiac and my husband does not- both of us thought the gluten free crab cakes were amazing!! Big chunks of crab meat, delicious tartar sauce. Cashier also had celiac, was able to assist in making sure all my dinner was celiac safe. The shrimp was “ok,” would definitely recommend the crab cakes and the potato salad!!

Staff very helpful. Lot of gluten free
Staff very knowledgeable and food was delicious. Almost everything except fries can be made gluten free. Would definitely eat here again!
3/16/19- What an amazing dinner. I emailed the restaurant before going and got a great response that made me feel very comfortable going there.
They replied, “We cater to celiac guests all the time. Although we do not have a dedicated area for preparing gluten free meals, we have two main sources of gluten in our kitchen, our brioche rolls and flour tortillas. We clean and sanitize all areas and utensils that come in contact with gluten containing products when preparing a meal for someone with gluten intolerances.
We would be happy to prepare a meal for you that is gluten free.”
I had the BEST crab cakes EVER!!!! The potato salad was amazing too. The ice cream was also GF. I questioned them about the scoops since one ice cream had cookie pieces. I was told they wash the scoops after using them if they are changing flavors. Definitely recommend!!

Great food! Knowledgeable staff. I had no issue getting an awesome and celiac safe meal!

Great food and great GF selection! I had the crab cake platter and crab bisque and it was awesome!!! I’ll be back!
Amazing food!! I had the crab cake platter with cole slaw and potato salad. I'm already trying to figure out when we can eat here again. And the cashier made a note that it's an allergy so the kitchen staff knew to be extra careful.

Knowledgable staff, excellent crab cakes. Not a dedicated gluten free restaurant though.
We really enjoyed this place. My son who suffers from CD had a bacon cheese burger on a GF bun. He really enjoyed it. No fries as they are cooked in the same dryer used for breaded items. Homemade ice cream was delicious. The Southwest Chicken Sandwich and the Crab Cakes were phenomenal.

lots of options, knowledgeable staff, delicious food. I love this place.
Awesome crab cakes and knowledgeable about cross contamination. Very homey atmosphere.

food was really good. Not dedicated gluten free because there are some items on the menu that contain gluten but almost everything can be ordered gluten free. 3 of us had salads with either filet mignon or shrimp and it was very fresh and flavorful. Wouldn't hesitate to come here again if in the area.
Yes
Dedicated in most ways. Fries are not dedicated gluten free, not all buns are dedicated gluten free. Prep help was not educated enough on recipe content and preparation cross contamination as l anticipated. However, owners seem dedicated to trying to conform for the celiac/intolerant customers. At least my gf bisque was served with a wrapped bag of oyster crackers..tip: dont serve any crackers unless folks ask for them.
Would definitely come again. Place was clean, Reasonably priced. Good gluten free options. Husband is not gluten free but loved the crab cakes. Dessert and potato salad was great. My only suggestion would be a safe fryer. I was jealous of his French fries! They looked amazing 😂. We will be back and I've already told 3 friends about the place.
