Delicious food. You order thru the app. Although the Golden Gym is marked gluten free with rice instead of bun, it apparently is not but they caught it when they brought out an appetizer and I asked if it was gluten free. They were extremely accommodating and understood english well enough to not use my translation card. My husband who is not gf enjoyed the meal too. We both had the beef patty Japanese business man burger 1 with rice, 1 with bun) which we enjoyed.

After all the amazing reviews this was on my must do Kyoto list and walkable from my hotel. Overall I was disappointed in the gluten free options (my sole motivation) and won’t go back. Unlike suggested on the app, there is no gf bread or pizza. If you are vegan then this might be the best place, however we are not. The place is adorable and laughably filled with all westerns which took away something from being in Japan. We asked our hotel to call and make reservations which seemed like a good idea but not entirely necessary on a weeknight. We had a nice table reserved by the window but it was uncomfortably warm in the dining area. Either no AC or very light AC. I have celiac and nut allergy which made figuring out what to eat challenging particularly with a heavily vegan menu. The menu was confusing and difficult to read through the ingredients lists. It’s designed to order yourself via your phone but we had to ask for help. The waiter was sweet but seemed a little unsure which caused concern about the food. They bring you a small water but never bring more, you have to get your own. The food was decent but not amazing and I felt terrible afterwards (possibly due to cross contamination, not sure). My daughter, celiac but no nut allergy, felt fine. My daughter was excited about gf desserts which we ordered but they forgot to bring and we after waiting a long time, had to ask. They were very small which made sharing challenging with my children. The vegan cheesecake was terrible in her opinion but the chocolate cake was decent. The service was very slow and unlike most Japanese restaurants it was loud with westerns blabbering on and on. It was not cheap for a disappointing meal. Vegans might be very happy with it but not us. (You can sub vegan burgers for beef burgers and vegan cheese for real cheese which my children all did).

Lots of gluten free options here (and vegan too), and the menu states what is or can be gf. I tried one of the burgers with rice options (instead of bun) which was delicious and reasonably priced!
The restaurant is on the second floor and has a great ambiance too.

Clearly indicated what was gluten free and what wasn't and confirmed with the chef. Food is tasty but pretty expensive.

I got the fried soy meat, gf beer, and vegan chocolate cake with gelato. Everything was so good, my server was great, very friendly and helpful. This was my first meal in Japan and it set the bar high, very delicious. I wish they had more dipping sauce for the fried soy meat as I ran out of that quickly, but I probably could’ve asked for more. Same with the vegan chocolate cake, the white cream and berry flavors on the side were really good, I just wish their were more so I could add it to each bite. I also probably could’ve asked for more. Everything was great! No reaction

I had lunch at this natural food restaurant with some gluten free items. They have an online ordering system with English that's too a few minutes to figure out. The waitress confirmed what was gluten free. The food quality was excellent. I had a burger with rice in place of the bun. I suspect some of the options might have some gluten from ingredient like kimchi of soy sauce.

Really delicious! They definitely lean gluten free but have gluten food too (pizzas can be either with flour or rice flour). Had falafels and hummus. Both were excellent.
