"A" for effort, "C" for execution.

After reading other reviews, I decided to try this place. I will say that I am both Celiac and Lactose intolerant. Again an "A" for effort. I mentioned allergies to the waitress, and she was very good about checking with the chef... several times, about various items; sometimes without my asking. Unfortunately after checking, there wasn't lots to eat. Some had to do with gluten, some with dairy, some with both. Example: I ended up ordering a bacon, barbecue cheeseburger. Well, no gluten free buns so it came in a lettuce wrap. No dairy free cheese (and the waitress had never heard of it, but was at least interested in learning about it) so it was left off. The barbecue sauce... well, now I don't remember but it had either gluten or dairy so that was off also, replaced by mayonaisse. The whipped potatoes it came with, sorry that had butter (they didn't have non-dairy butter, and hadn't heard of) so I asked about fries. No dairy... but they were done in the same fryer as everything else, so heavy cross contamination - but at least she told me about it and advised against. The burger itself...great! I think you see the point though. Dessert, she actually did offer a sorbet and gave it on the house. All in all, they try, but would it take that much to buy some gluten free buns or rolls? Good to know about the barbecue sauce, but could you not pick up a bottle of gluten free sauce? Again, I could keep going, but I think the point is made. Again an "A" for effort, but a "C" for execution. Now you know, but feel free to decide for yourself.
