DO NOT RISK IT! Just ate here tonight and got glutened. I got EXTREMELY sick. I had the fried calamari and the eggplant parmigiana. They told me they have a separate frier and area in the back for GF food. I don’t believe that would be the case because of how sick I got. My fellow celiacs would know... huge difference in symptoms if you have something that’s cross contaminated or just straight up gluten.
Also, not to bash them... the service was great and the place was very cute. The food wasn’t great. It tasted very bland and the Marinara sauce was probably the worst I’ve tried in a lonnnng time.
Very disappointed.
Amazing restaurant. Cute and small little family restaurant. They have SOO many gluten free options on the menu and are very knowledgeable about celiac. They even have a dedicated fryer for calamari, mozzarella sticks, etc. I had the BEST Alfredo pasta which I rarely am ever able to find gluten free. They also have gluten free rolls to start with and gluten free dessert options. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town. Highly recommend!!
I am almost speechless. this is the best Italian food I have had in 6 years. I had fried calamari made in a designated fryer, gluten free pasta with meatballs in Alfredo and a brownie Sundae (sadly they were out of GF tiramisu) everything was incredible and the service was amazing. :-)
I am a celiac and Prince Umbertos has the BEST Gluten Free Menu. (its actually a real menu!) They even have Gluten free fried calamari! !! Dedicated Gluten free area to prevent cross contamination). I don't live on Long Island but I eat there several times when I am out here. Wonderful family owns this restaurant...I feel like family when we go there! Bon Appétit! I give them 6+ stars.
Ver good food. Very friendly service! Love the fried calamari!
Great gluten free foods , they understand the cross contamination problems. Highly recommend it
Small gluten free menu but with pretty good options. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. The food did take awhile to come out though.
They make their pizza's in a separate oven and they have a decent selection of Gluten free items. The pizza I got could've been cooked a bit longer but overall the meal was good.
I just came home from dinner here and about 5 minutes after leaving the belly swell started..I'm sick!!! Celiacs/sensitives stay away their gluten free claim is clearly a crock and/or their cross contamination procedures are a joke to them! Their food was inedible, the service SLOW and all in all a weird experience...why were the carrots in my salad COOKED????? This experience was just so laughable and bizarre I KNOW we had to be on candid camera!!! Would give them negative stars but that's not an option LOL
prince umberto now offers a variety of gluten free entrees including eggplant ,chicken dishes ,mozzarella stick and desserts from tiramisu ,carrot cake and chocolate cake ,and of course pizza 9" or 13 " .great place to eat at
gluten free penne vodka was good...their staff can b a little rude and I'm Italian and am used to the whole pizzeria culture having... once worked in one
