My son and I had the gluten free chicken Parmesan, which was amazing!
Excellent eggplant Parmesan. They use homemade breadcrumbs! Limoncello panna cotta for dessert was delish. Highly recommend.
Best meal on the island so far. Excellent Italian restaurant with great customer service. I had the mushroom/spinach pizza (they substitute the regular sauce for a marinara) and I was skeptical because it’s a cauliflower crust but it was delicious. The mushrooms and the smell of the garlic, and all the cheese…it was heavenly. Also had a Blueberry Cider from Ola Brew. And, the torte…as good as everyone else reviews say it is. We sat outside with a view of the sunset…this should be a must-eat if you’re coming to the Big Island. Expensive, but you’re worth it!!
Our server was knowledgeable about Celiac Disease and made sure to tell the kitchen for us. Our food took a little longer because they were wiping things down and making sure everything was safe. Pizza was delicious and we enjoyed dessert and coffee as well. Make a reservation, they are super busy.
Once I mentioned I was celiac they asked a number of questions and said they were very aware of cross contamination issues and used a dedicated area of the kitchen. all cooking surfaces were sanitized before using for GF preperations.
Normally I rate a place on how safe it feels, and overall they took great precautions and I had no GF issues.... but this was the most bland Italian food I have ever eaten. I ordered a dish with pancetta and mushrooms, and had one piece of pancetta and two mushrooms. Good for GF not good for taste.
Staff was very knowledgeable about celiac, and ate here without any issues. They have gluten free pasta, and breadcrumbs so I was able to order chicken parmigiana (not on the menu they have eggplant and veal parm on the menu. But server told me they could make it for me). The portion size was massive and covered in mozzarella. It was delicious, and I was excited to be able to finally have breaded chicken parmigiana at a restaurant!
These guys were GREAT!! Our waiter Jared became kid2's favorite waiter of all time ever, with his endless patience, respect for celiac needs, and can-do attitude. GF pizza was great, and they were kind enough to put together a special GF pasta dish for kid1 because the special that kid1 really wanted wasn't available GF. Highly recommend for celiac diners.
Fantastic! They have gluten free pizza crust, pasta, and bread crumbs. I had a fantastic eggplant parmesan and it was 100% gluten free... such a luxury for someone with celiac eating out. Highly recommend!
Excellent service, wait staff and kitchen very knowledgeable. Ate here twice, first meal was amazing. The chef had to alter the mac nut goat cheese salad (normally goat cheese is coated and deep friend) so she coated it by hand and baked it, delicious. Wild boar and kale pasta was awesome, as was the chicken with arugula. Pasta with clam sauce was only so-so, but all very safe, no cross-contamination.
Excellent food and service. I enjoyed gluten free margherita pizza, classic rigatoni ala bolognese with gluten free pasta and delicious limoncello panna cotta! Restaurant is open late daily to accommodate locals and tourist - 1am or later! Located in the Waikoloa Village shopping center.
