Had dinner here, they are very Celiac aware and only 2 items on their menu had gluten, everything else was gluten free. The staff were knowledgeable and talked me through everything on the menu. Everything I tried was great. Highly recommend.

Amazing place with great food and great people. They asked right away for any food allergies. They walked me through what I could have or not as the menu is not marked. Most everything is GF but for a few options. I had the guacamole and a couple of tacos. The food was one of the best meals I have had out in a while. The cocktails were the best too. We be going back soon.

The food was absolutely delicious! The staff was knowledgeable about cross-contact and made sure to explain their processes. There’s no gluten free menu because everything is gluten free except for one menu item, and it can even be made gluten free too. I had no issues after eating there and I’m really sensitive to cross-contact. I’ll definitely be going back again.

Excellent food, atmosphere, and service!! I am *extremely* sensitive to gluten & cross-contamination, and rarely eat out. I felt very safe eating here and the staff were very knowledgeable, telling me almost the entire menu is gluten-free, with the exception of two items (the empanadas and the chimichanga). They have a gluten free substitute for the empanadas, though. They don’t mark GF on the menu since it’s mostly all GF. I had tacos, chips, and queso which were all delicious! Authentic Mexican food. They have a dedicated fryer for the items on the menu that *do* contain wheat, so their normal fryers are gluten free. The atmosphere is upscale but super cozy; it would be a great date spot.

So good and I felt very safe! The only thing on the menu that has gluten is the empanadas and you could do a flauta instead. Able to accommodate no dairy. Server asked before taking drink order if any allergies. Would definitely go back! Felt good to not have to worry about gluten. Definitely recommend!

Exccelent food and most of the menu can be made gluten-free. They have a dedicated frier. The waitress was very nice and knowledgeable about cc. W I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Literally the best food I’ve ever had. Everything on their menu is gluten free except for their empanadas which can be made gluten free as flautas! And yes, their desserts are also gf! (Including churros, fried ice cream, and dolce de leche cake) I was super impressed by the staffs allergen knowledge (shout out to Kaleigh!) and the experience was like no other. You could tell all of their ingredients are well sourced, fresh and/or made in house. All of their dishes were pure perfection on a platter and I will 100% be coming back!! Everyone, especially if you have GS or Celiac, HAS to eat here.

Celiac, Gluten-Free Heaven

I have celiac and am EXTREMELY sensitive to gluten, so when I discovered Puerta, where 99% of the menu is GF, I was excited. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint. The staff was very knowledgeable about food allergies and crazy accommodating in every way. Not to mention, the food was FANTASTIC!! The dinner I had here a few weeks ago may have been the best meal of my life. Seriously. You have to try this place.

Delish dinner at Puerta. The entire menu is gf naturally with the exception of the empanadas, which can be made gf. The churros were out the night I enjoyed my meal, so went with fried ice cream instead. Yummy!

I am a celiac that always has severe symptoms when I’m given gluten. I never purposefully eat gluten, but this place was really great. The waiters told me that everything was gluten free. I ordered two Papas al Chipotle tacos with the Elotes Bites and Queso Fundido and then at the end I got Churros! All in all the waiters answered all my questions and marked everything on the receipt and made notes, even though everything was GF already. I just like to take that precaution. I will say the Churros were better fresh - I had left overs and they hardened after a while.

Puerta is honestly my favorite gluten free experience. Everything on the menu either is or can be easily modified to be GF. Staff is fully aware and available, and help prevent cross contamination in any form. Safest I’ve felt dining in Charlotte period. Pro tip- go on taco Tuesday!!

Puerta in Elizabeth 7th and Pecan is AMAZING! All of the dishes you are seeing are gluten free in separate frier! I’m celiac since 2014 and went Thursday night and had an amazing special meal! These churros! Empanada!!! flautas!

I told the server I was Celiac and she told me everything on the menu can be made gluten free! As a side note they do have a glutenful version of the empanada so if you see other photos on their website that could be what you’re seeing. Just tell them your situation and they will take care of you!!!!

The ambience is very buzzy, loud, young, fun etc. if you want to have a serious convo with your eating partner I would go at a non peak time. 😂 I did call ahead seating because I didn’t have a reservation. I got a table an hour after calling and made sure to leave my house in perfect timing.

This place is amazing! The vibes the drinks the food the decor the music it’s awesome. The staff is so friendly! The entire menu is gluten free. Except the empanadas but no fear they have a gluten free version for those separate fryer and all! I had the lamb empanadas and the fish and the queso. So good. Hubby had the tacos he loved them. Everything was so fresh and delicious.

It’s great! They said everything is gluten free except the empanadas but you can request gluten free ones, which are so good I had to confirm 2x they were gf.

The churros are amazing!! Only downside to This place is it is hard to get a reservation but you can often walk in around 1:30/2 for brunch or 5 for dinner

This place is amazing! Almost everything is always gluten free and everything else can be modified to be gluten free. They are very knowledgeable about celiacs and everything fried is in a dedicated fryer. Finding a place with gluten free churros and gluten free tres leche is incredible! I enjoyed everything I tried, it’s a must go for all celiacs.
