I went to Purple Cafe for my anniversary. It was VERY GOOD. They don’t have a specific gluten free menu, but they have gluten free pasta and bread. The server was also very knowledgeable and helpful. It’s a really cute place. My only complaint is that I ordered a meat and cheese board and told them that I was gluten free, but there was still a non-gluten free cracker on it. They had brought out a separate plate with gluten free bread for me, but it was clear that there was not a clear understanding of cross contamination.
What a great local gem! My wife and I visited after hearing great reviews and that they had gf items. Each menu item has suggested wine pairings, and wow... what a selection of wines. Great, modern ambiance that feels both open and private. I ordered the basil pesto with added grilled chicken. When I asked the server if the gf pasta was boiled separately (it is) she asked if I had Celiac and made sure to tell the kitchen to prepare it to limit cross contamination. When the meal arrived, the waiter (a different person than our main server) again explained how it was prepared separately.
The food was fantastic, as was the wine. And best of all, I had no gluten reactions. Will definitely be a “go-to” place for our date nights.
Nothing but fantastic food for gf! My first time there the waitress shared that one of her good friends is gf. Nice to be served by someone who understands eating gf. All fresh ingredients, nothing from a base. Great place for special dinner like anniversary, knowing that the night won't end with feeling like hell due to hidden gluten.
