Quick Bites Soul Food

Amazing food! However, it is not set up to be celiac-friendly and they do not have a dedicated fryer. Please keep that in mind in determining your sensitivity level and if you should go there. I have celiac disease but shared fryers usually don't bother me as long as they keep them clean. I talked to the staff and they offered to make their fried catfish with only cornmeal (usually they combine flour and cornmeal). I about cried since I can't recall the last time I had fried catfish and it was so good. I had collard greens and yams as my sides. They were tasty too, and I picked the fries off someone's plate and wished I'd have ordered them instead. They are hand cut and mildly spicy, but even my toddler liked them. They also had Kool-aid which I hadn't had since childhood. Yum. They said they cold make the pork chop and the chicken in just the cornmeal as well. Several hours later, no sickness so I feel good coming back. Plus, the staff was so friendly and not one person at my table didn't love the food. I plan on making this at least a monthly stop.
