I was excited by all of the positive reviews. When I got there I was already worried because of the abnormal amount of warning signs for allergies. The manager came out and talked to me and did warn they have a shared filter, but also said the risk for just cross contamination was extremely low "like 2%" and that there is a dedicated fryer. I felt they would take the right procedure and they made me feel confident, I'll take the blame. I had been looking forward to it so much and the reviews were so good I decided to risk it. It was DELICIOUS, but I haven't had a reaction that severe all year long, I ended up with a hiatal hernia it was so bad. Do not recommend for anyone unfortunately.
Excellent option at Disney springs. My favorite! Had at least 3 people come to confirm allergies, and there is even a dedicated allergy chef in the kitchen who deals with things. Was with a friend who had a complex allergy that included gluten, soy, diary, black pepper, allium, and she was able to eat here no problem. There is also live Irish dancing and music. So fun!
Also the food is amazing! I had the Nom Nom wings, best wings of my life! Breaded, tender and juicy, wow! Game changer. The gf fish and chips was my main and my friend pre ordered the bread pudding which was delish.
The safety here was top 5 best I’ve ever been to and I was so happy with the food!
Delicious! Very happy to find somewhere with GF fried fish and onion rings. Fried fish could’ve used more flavor but very happy overall. I would eat it again. Server explained the fryer filtration system and then the manager came to our table to confirm my GF order. Felt very comfortable eating here.
I had the most incredible experience here. Upon sitting down I asked for allergy menu which our waiter brought moments later. He talked about how there are separate fryers that share a filtration system, but the top fryer is entirely gluten free and the ones connected to it under are the ones not dedicated to gluten free items (from how I understood it). He asked what items I was looking at ordering so he could notify the manager to go over the potential allergens. (I got the beef short rib entirely gluten free and delicious!). The manager came out and went over everything with me, and a separate manager came out and talked about their allergy chef and how seriously they take these things. I literally teared up because I was so overwhelmed at how careful they are at this restaurant. I felt so much relief, and got to enjoy an appetizer (the garlic fries are SO GOOD), an entree (short rib with yummy veggies and mashed potatoes) AND A DESSERT!!!! The chocolate mousse brownie was INCREDIBLE and loved by the whole table. All the items came with an allergy flag and were kept separate from the other plates. I am so grateful for this experience and highly recommend this restaurant for fellow celiacs.
Update they no longer have the scallop forest😭😭😭😭😭 if you have had it and are celiac you understand how taken away I was still crying….they still have fish and chips the boxty and that’s about it
Amazing it's a must for any celiac person they have a bunch of fried gluten free including amazing fried scallops!!! Also gluten free magners cider which is delicious awesome fish and chips!!
My favorite in Disney Springs! I’m a very sensitive celiac and I really wanted to be able to eat here. I went the day before our reservation and spoke to the manager and he assured me I would be safe and went over the menu items. I had also heard with 24 hour notice they could make the bread pudding gluten free ( it was my favorite before diagnosis) and he said absolutely! I had the Shepards Pie (naturally GF) and my husband had the GF fish and chips and said it was delicious. They had dedicated fryers but the system they change the oil with services both so I didn’t want to risk it. However, the server said that this is being solutioned within the next several months. Yay!! Back to the bread pudding - I couldn’t tell it was GF - it was phenomenal!!! I think I asked 3-4 times if they were sure this was the GF :)!! I have to give props to Disney and their education to their cast members / servers on food allergies. Well done! I spent three days in Disney Springs and didn’t get sick.
Onion rings are great! They also have a gluten free fish fry(battered with a wine base), have gluten free bread. Manager came out to talk to us regarding the fryer. They do have a separate fryer for gluten free but it does share a filtering system with the non gf fryer. On the allergy menu some things that are gluten free say they aren’t so make sure to ask if there is something you want that isn’t marked on there. This is due to the salad having croutons even though you can omit them, etc.
I came here specifically for the onion rings, and they did not disappoint!
I had the braised beef and it was delicious. The staff is great and very knowledgeable and ambiance is amazing. BEWARE!! If you have a high sensitivity to cross contamination like I do, I would recommend to stay away from any of the fried items on the menu. They do have a dedicated fryer, but they filter both oils for both of the fryers at the same place, meaning the oil from the none dedicated fryer is mixed in with the oil from the dedicated fryer. Yes, it’s cleaned, but the risk of gluten residue can still be present. Please take caution. I’ll put not dedicated fryer on the review knowing this fact.
DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE CELIAC OR ARE SENSITIVE!!!!!!! I read the reviews and talked to the manager. I should have listened to the couple that said don't do it. I ended up going back to the room and not just in pain but being sick the rest of the day and into the night. I was super excited about fish and chips but it was cross contaminated and I paid for it. Just don't do it unless you have the time to spend in your room and not at the parks.
Wonderful meal with a great atmosphere. The server was very aware of cross-contamination concerns and took great care to ensure that my food was handled carefully. I am a very sensitive celiac and have never had a reaction here. There are lots of options that are either GF as is, or can be adjusted.
The restaurant was really cool with the dancers, music and ambiance. However the whole reason I made the reservation was because they had gluten free fish and chips. When we went their gluten free fryer was broken. When I said to the server "well that's disappointing"and asked about other options she got attitude and said we could go to Cookes, which is not a sit down table service. I ended up getting the pork and it was very good. But our server just seemed annoyed with me the whole time. I have Hashimoto so while I do not have severe symptoms like a celiac, I do still get inflammation joint pain and sometimes stomach pain. She just seemed dismissive like she did not believe I should be bothering her with gluten free protocol. I wish I would have gone to Cookes like she suggested because then I would not have been given such attitude my entire meal.
Food and service were great! They were able to explain the menu options very well for my allergies. I was unable to try to fish and chips because their dedicated fryer was broken. Then after the meal, the server raved about how good it was and that Cookes next door has the same recipe for gf and their fryer works. That kinda annoyed me and wish they would have said something before.
Came here based on reviews. I received an allergy friendly menu after they asked if me or my friend had any allergies. Which has been typical of Disney, and amazing. Our server was knowledgeable and made me feel at ease while deciding on the braised beef dish with vegetables. The manager stopped by the table to confirm my allergy and to answer any further questions I may have had which was nice. My food came out with an allergy toothpick in it which is another added comfort as I receive my food. It was DELICIOUS!! I would 100% recommend this restaurant. There was also life music and Irish step dancing - we went at 5 pm, no reservation for the two of us. It’s been over 24 hours since I’ve been and I did not get sick!
Ordered the fish and chips and a pear cider! It was AMAZING. My waitress was very knowledgeable explained everything and even told me the ranch was not GF because it was coming on another plate to our table. Both our waitress and the manager explained their cleaning process for all the fryers and how the same (but cleaned) strainer is used for all fryers. Personally I didn’t feel like there was enough of a risk but I was impressed at the obvious knowledge of cross contamination so I went ahead with my order. **I’d suggest making a reservation. I heard them tell someone it was an hour wait so I was happy I reserved ahead.
Food was outstanding. Had pork, mashed potatoes and cabbage. It is not on the menu but if you ask for chicken tenders they will make them with gluten free batter. They have a dedicated fryer but we used the Nima sensor to check the fries to be sure. No gluten tested. We called ahead and had 2 bread puddings made. The best GF bread pudding I have ever had. Highly suggest calling ahead. We will definitely eat here again.
Large allergy menu that can accommodate for gluten free. They will mention that they are not a gluten free restaurant, however they have separate fryers to accommodate. We have eaten their twice and haven't been ill. We ordered the fish and chips on the first evening and the braised beef.
They have many options for gluten free. Staff is always really knowledgeable with helping you pick items, then they send a manager over to discuss with you as well. I have eaten here many times so I will go through what I have ordered. Salmon, fish and chips, shepherds pie, braised beef, burger( it comes without the whiskey sauce and onion straws). For appetizers I really enjoy the boxty and the battered scallops. They have a gluten free batter that they use for the fish and chips. They can make you onion rings with the batter as well. I was told by one of the servers that if you call the day before your visit, you can request gluten free bread pudding, but I haven't done it yet.
I ordered the fish and onion rings. First the waiter explained how they do the gf process. Then the manager came over and explained. I also got a beer! They have a gf beer! It was RedBridge. My fave. Everything was amazing.
My son decided to order onion rings after he saw mine. The waiter recommended he order the gf because they’re crispier. He didn’t. He should have. 😂
It was so good I went back for lunch two days later.
I had the fish and chips with a side of roasted vegetables. It was all delicious and they were knowledgeable and took my allergies seriously. They have a dedicated fryer! This will be a must stop every time we are here! The atmosphere is so fun! We loved the live music!
This place is great! They have a new allergen menu (see pictures) with detailed substitutions for all allergens. If you specify allergy’s on the reservation they automatically bring the menu to your table.
I got the pork and had to sub the mashed potatoes for fried potatoes (due to dairy). They have a dedicated fryer as well. 10/10
**Wife is celiac, not me** Wife got onion rings and pull the boxty. Both were excellent. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable AND the chef came out to talk to my wife.
I got wings and crispy skin potatoes and ordered the GF so my wife was able to try those too without issue. Gear night overall.
I ate here last night and had a great experience. I noted my gluten allergy in the Disney app when I made my reservation and they had an allergy menu for me when I got there. The manager came over to explain the oil filtering (dedicated fryer, oil is filtered with the regular oil). Decided to try the fish and chips (sub for onion rings) and everything was great. The waiter even brought me out a fresh bottle of ketchup (he says he always does with allergies). I felt about as safe as I could for a non-dedicated GF restaurant. (Also, the live music and dancing was great!)
This restaurant is located at Disney’s Springs in The Landing area. Waitress knew about allergies and cross contamination. There is no GF menu but will make modifications to accommodate. Have GF rolls. I had The Cider House Belly appetizer and the Braised Be Beef entree, which I was told are both naturally made GF. The food was so delicious! The manager came to my table 2 times to let me know my food will be gluten free and he is making sure they are taking the correct precautions! My meal came out separately with an allergy stick. Eaten here many times before and it is always a great experience between the food, the live music, and Irish dancing!
Amazing GF experience. Server was incredibly knowledgable and helpful and sent the chef out to speak to us. They have a dedicated fryer and most items can be made GF. Had an amazing meal. Great experience which is what you expect from Disney.
I had an amazing experience here! It was the best restaurant I've been to since my diagnosis. The waiter ran through every menu item that could be modified, and when I chose a few, the manager came out and confirmed with me that they could be made celiac safe. They also had a delicious gf beer and a dedicated gf fryer. The slight concern with the fryer is that the oil is drained through the same pipes as the gluten fryer when they are filtered. However, I ate the onion rings and did not have a reaction.
After hearing about their gluten free fish and chips, this is where I requested to go for my birthday while on vacation in Orlando! I was so excited! While I felt extremely safe ordering, our server was extremely knowledgeable, and the manager came out to speak to us regarding every order we made that required gf precautions. All of that is great and so welcomed for the fellow celiac.! However….. while the fried food was so crispy and perfectly cooked, the taste was lacking. I was so disappointed. It had no taste. Thank goodness the tartar sauce and bang bang sauce were ‘bangin’ and gluten free because it’s the only thing that saved the day! I got onion rings and fish and chips and my husband got the scallops appetizer. The scallops were better than the fish but the only tested present in any of it was that of grease. No flavor. Very disappointed.
We visited for brunch last weekend and enjoyed some Irish music and Irish dancing as part of Disney's St. Patty's Day celebration. After speaking with our server and the allergen coordinator/manager, and getting their info about the shared deep fryer filtration system, I ordered two apps--the Pull the Boxty (fried hashbrown-ish cube with ham and cheese sauce) and the Cider House Belly (glazed pork belly with squash puree and pickled cabbage. They have 5 or 6 ciders in cans and on tap, which I tried a couple of after the server highly recommended not having any cocktails for fear of cross-contamination with gluten-containing ingredients. (She seemed a little unclear about whether distilled alcohols were GF, but I also noticed some of the cocktails contained Guiness as an ingredient, so just to be safe, I went the cider and espresso route, especially since it was a busy brunch/lunch time that we were there.) Overall, the food was great, service was even better, and I didn't have any reactions. We'll definitely go back if we're in the area again.
Amazing! Can’t say enough good things about the staff here. The manager came over after I told the waitress of my allergy (celiac) and went through the ENTIRE menu with what I could have and what modifications it would be. Then she returned to take my order specifically to be sure the kitchen was safe and then the regular waitress took the rest of the tables order. The have a dedicated fryer but with the same oil filtration system. Did not get sick. I got the Worth the Wait Beef Sandwich on GF bun and GF onion rings. Was absolutely delicious food and fantastic service, Amy (manager) and Christina (waitress) were wonderful! Will come back when in Orlando!
i was pretty nervous about coming to this restaurant but the experience was great. the menu was not marked unfortunately (except the fish and chips) but the staff was super knowledgeable and told me everything. the server said that it was protocol for the manager to come over to take my order, and he did. i’m a very, very picky eater so i got a salad. i got “that salad with chicken” but took everything off. so i got arugula with chicken. now this wasn’t the most revolutionary meal ever (mostly my fault) but i still have 5 stars because i felt so safe. food came out marked at well. fries were good and there was a dedicated frier. the only complaint i have is that the chicken was a little cold when it came it, but i can look past it. would def recommend to anyone looking for a good restaurant. i did not get the gluten free fish and chips but my brother did and he said they were very tasty!
